Honestly what really turned me off the most is the damage sponge enemies. Really kills the fun factor tbh, rather have fought 2 or 3 times more enemies. With less health which would have made the combat flow alot better. Making me feel like I'm actually killing something instead feeling like I'm constantly hitting punching bags. Takes even powerful AOE spells 7 or 8 times to kill grunts. Complete with a few second casting animation. Feels like BS. Along with being locked in the animation. Nearing guaranteeing you're going to get hit which can be equally frustrating.
This game was enjoyable, but the story feels incomplete, ending abruptly halfway through. I understand the developers may have been limited by the source material, but that doesn't excuse the lack of resolution on key plot points, like the promise to meet a certain character. It's frustrating when a game sets up an intriguing story hook and then fails to deliver. The developers could have expanded the narrative, even if it meant making it non-canonical, to provide more satisfaction for players. The abrupt conclusion left me feeling like I'd been cheated, much like if Mass Effect had ended right after apprehending Saren in the beginning without explaining the Reapers or resolving the main conflict. If you're interested in the gameplay, consider purchasing the game for $20-$30. However, given the abundance of quality indie games at similar price points, I'd recommend waiting for a sale or discount to maybe even $10 - $20. The short, disjointed story and lack of voice acting in many places (replaced with one-word fillers) make it hard to justify the full $60 price tag. Konami, as a major game studio, has no excuse for cutting corners on voice acting or story telling to increase profits for their shareholders. Their decision to do so only detracts from the overall experience. Edit: It's almost as if the developers are more interested in padding the game's length with side stories and character development, rather than delivering a satisfying main story.
Almost 30 hours in, I have been enjoying this game. Favorite parts of this game ais the Universe, open world, Character Customization, skill tree, its uncensored and giggle effects. Its not a perfect game but I am hoping that since its new the devs will release updates to polish this game. Open world could use some work like making the npc's more lively. Combat should be increased in power, some battles can be frustrating and slow. Leveling up it painful and slow. I love seing the EZ characters in 3d and really like that each character has its own fighting style to learn. I am glad I was patient enough to get true the story mode. Now I am just unlocking new outfits and clearing orher open world missions. Definitely worth the look if you into anime games that are not gacha.
EDENS ZERO, a really fun JRPG game ,with each of the character is unique to itself, the combat/gameplay is slow progressing at the start but get better as you go through and unlock more of the stuff in game. The story cover from the start from the original series which is great for anyone who is not familiar with the title, For the fans that know the original works, the game does it justice with some scene. It does not have a outstanding graphic could need some polished works and the combats needs improvement too. The customization in the game is such a great aspect , you could fully customized it and get all of the item in the game without needing to pay. There's also a whole planet(Blue Garden) for explore and unlock certain collection. it's really fun to playing the character along the story and unlock stuff as you progressing,
A ton of armors and weapons that all change the way your characters look. Also built-in jiggle.
Apparently this game just appeared without any hype or marketing. Everything is a little rough around the edges and it strikes me as a game that either had a low budget or shipped early. That said... I'm enjoying it. It has the same good vibes of the anime. They've split the game into two sections. First is story mode which follows the anime/manga in episodic fashion. Then there's exploration mode which takes place around Blue Garden. You can switch between them outside of story missions and the exploration is pretty damn big full of sidequests that you can pick up from the guild. It looks like there's a lot of customization. Basically every piece of gear you pick up isn't a stat sheet and is completely visible so you can mix and match different outfits. For example you can dress Shiki like Weisz or give Weisz Shiki's jacket while keeping the rest of his outfit. I'm 3 hours in and not regretting the purchase. If you're a fan of the anime/manga it's worth picking up. Just expect it to be a little janky at times.
I thought I was going to spend a couple hours on this over the weekend. I don't know what day it is anymore....
Fun game! Gameplay and storymode where refreshing. Hopefully a sequel in the future - but with some tweaks with the enemies. Glad to have 100 % this game!
