Initially, I liked geodepth. You get into your drill, you get some resources, everything is rather chill and feels like one of those “dad games”. The problem with it becomes obvious when you try to progress further - instead of something else you are given the same exact set of activities, only slightly redesigned: the cave with another upgrade looks a bit different, the ore you mine is of a different colour, the stats of your drill are increased but feel the same because everything around you has increased requirement now. In theory you can build a big base and decorate it - in practice there is no point in building anything in large quantities as you don’t have that much fuel for powering your base and decorations on a base you barely visit aren’t really a useful application of your resources. In theory you progress the game when you move to the new area - in practice you simply don’t feel it from a gameplay standpoint. Geodepth shows its hand extremely early and has nothing else to offer after that. While I understand that this is a solo dev project, I can’t recommend such a shallow and repeatable game for its current price - there is simply not enough stuff in it to enjoy and it gets dull rather quickly.
Can i be honest? a solid 10/10 game This was such an amazing game, and i feel it was too short. I wish the developer had expanded it more. Hes off making other games, while this game is brilliant with luster, It just left me wanting, DLC, xpacs? i crave.
really good game, loved how ambiently scary a lot of the caves were without having actual jumpscares. Only wish it could have gone on for longer, or had some kind of endless mode with more upgrades.
This is a great chill game. You just put on the in-game music and do some mining. Took me about 14 hours to 100% without rushing. I did a bit of base building and built myself a museum with almost (didn't add the disruption flask) one of every item neatly put on shelves and podiums. Only con to the game I can think of is there isn't more to do with the geoworms. All and all a really great chill game. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks for making it
It was a fun mix of Subnatica vibes and those digging games I used to play on my iPod touch.
Great little game. Too bad it is so short. I'm at 9 hours and I've already beaten it. This type of gameplay could be expanded into a fantastic game.
Eh, it's all right. No actual depth to the game (is that a bad pun?). I'd get it on sale, but there's a lack of content, it is relaxing though.
Relaxing little game about mining ore on an alien planet. Process itself is somewhat repetative, but it mixes it up very well with cave exploration, base building/decoration. There are a lot of things to build and place around so it is quite fun on it's own.
There's a small grind to it, but it's really neat! The concept of navigating looking at a 2D top down view and then docking to nearby caves and experiencing some pretty amazing landscape (or well, cavescape) design, I have to say this is really well done! This is a game I just stumbled across by accident, but I'm glad I did. It was super fun!!!
