A Rift has opened in the Cycle of Memories. As a Watcher, it falls to you to save the World’s Memory. Divinities, primordial Guardians, and peoples scarred by war and exploitation: a vast world unfolds before you. Only you can uncover its hidden truths.

It's really fun to have lots of possible magic combinations and good story.
First of all, this game is in Early Access so while the game is lacking content at the moment, i won't hold that against them. I will structure this review in 3 categories. 1. What is already there The game has a solid gameplay loop you'd expect in a roguelite. You can craft spells from what you randomly get complete a run with 3 bosses. So it's a solid point to start with. The Meta progression feels a bit expensive at times, but it allows you to chose new options, so it will keep future runs interesting. 2. What should be added The game definitely needs more story acts. For now, once you completed a run once, story is done. Additionally, having some enemy randomness (like 3 possible Bosses per stage) would do a lot. When it comes to spells, the current spells are always "Throw XY in a straight line". It would be cool to have more variety (e.g. AoE around Character or even self applied buffs.) Also, in my opinion, a spellcrafting game needs some way to theory craft. bare minumim would be a compendium, where you can see your spells, triggers and modifiers. What i'd recommend to add however would be a sandbox, where you can build whatever you like to see how your items work together. 3. What needs to be changed The spellcrafting feels A LOT more restricted than in Mages of Mystralia. At least, they should divide triggers into conditions ("When does it happen") and effects ("What happens"). Most spells are also just elemental variations of the same thing ("Do x around the spell" or "leave a path of X") This needs more variety. Currently, Modifiers only apply to spells and triggers, but they can't affect each other. Please Devs, make the System more like Mages of Mystralia, where you could apply anything to everything to change their effects. Conclusion: This game has great potential and is already really enjoyable even though it lacks replayability. The spell crafting is (currently) quite limited and should (and hopefully will) improve over time.
I saw a post about this game on a reel from instagram and since I’ve played Hades before I thought why not try the game out. I actually enjoyed it a lot, managed to finish the early access in just about 6 hours and the only thing I regret was finding the one build that would destroy bosses and stick to it instead of experimenting new things The difficulty is very noticeable if we are to compare this game to Hade, without spoiling for anyone that hasn’t gotten to it, the final boss of the second region was probably my biggest road block every run, and one of the mini bosses of the last region too, just before the actual final boss. I think the only thing right now that I would make it do the game is a lot more replay-able is kind of forcing you to have more spell variations before defeating the final boss ends the game, maybe at least one of each element and buying one spell increases the cost of the others so you grind it a bit more. I personally found no reason to change builds once I found the one that made me blast through every stage
Overall, I had a pretty good time with, although the beginning can be quite frustrating. Early on, it’s easy to get stuck during a run, and the biggest issue for me was that I didn’t even know more options would eventually become available. Because of that, some bosses and any meaningful further progress started to feel almost unreachable unless I played every run nearly perfectly. At one point, I was seriously considering dropping the game altogether. That changed after unlocking Lux Memories and realizing that the game would gradually open up more possibilities as I progressed. I decided to keep going, and once I unlocked the branching options for the basic spell, the game really clicked for me. From that point on, I was hooked and ended up finishing it within a single day. I also really enjoyed the story and the worldbuilding. I found myself eagerly absorbing every new piece of information I could learn about Mystralia and its world. Discovering more about the setting was genuinely one of the things that kept me interested and made me want to keep progressing. Gameplay-wise, I like how much you have to think about your run from the very beginning. Choosing which boss to aim for, which route to take, and how to build around both offense and defense can make a huge difference. In the end, I’m very satisfied with the experience. Now I’m curious to see what other upgrades the game has to offer and how deep its systems can actually go.
