About
Echoes of Mystralia is a roguelite action-RPG where memory is power. Craft your own spells, refine your tactics, and carve your path through a world trapped in the horrors of its past.
Play as Mazarim, a Watcher tasked with protecting the Cycle of Memories. Explore the lands of Mystralia, meet its lost souls, and face the Shadows of the Past. Will you save the World’s Memory before it disappears into the Rift?
Thunderbursts, freezing tornadoes, fire vortices. If you can imagine it, you can craft it. Memories are your only weapon against the Shadows of the Past. Combine them, reorder them, and watch your spell take shape right in front of you.
Discover a world haunted by its past, where people are reliving the horrors of their own history. Every path has its challenges, its encounters, and its rewards. And your journey is yours to command.
Every journey ends with a return to the Azimuth Temple. Up there, Watchers can develop their skills, change their combat approach, or simply enjoy the pearls of wisdom of a millennia-old dragon.
A Rift has opened in the Cycle of Memories. As a Watcher, it falls to you to save the World’s Memory. Divinities, primordial Guardians, and peoples scarred by war and exploitation: a vast world unfolds before you. Only you can uncover its hidden truths.

So much fun! its so nice to try to find the strongest combos, or even the funniest!
I think a lot of the complaints about this game are baseless, especially when you consider that it’s **Early Access**. You have to take the game for what it is right now, and for an Early Access title, there’s already a lot here to enjoy. The build variety is incredible, with seemingly endless combinations to experiment with, and the gameplay itself is genuinely fun and rewarding. I also think some of the complaints about difficulty come from people expecting to be able to beat everything on their first attempt. Figuring things out, experimenting with builds, and learning from failed attempts is part of what makes this kind of game enjoyable. There’s definitely room for improvement, but that’s the point of Early Access. The foundation is really solid, the game has a ton of potential, and I’m excited to see where the developers take it from here. Definitely worth giving it a chance.
Another action roguelike that takes the action part too seriously. It pains me that the spell-building system is actually good, because this is not a format I'm a fan of: the game is really plain looking, overly challenging, and as a result, I don't feel compelled to keep playing. It's too hands on, I would rather just strategize my build and see what happens then be at fault when I fail. This is why I think survivor-likes are superior, they're lower stress but still give that dopamine hit of rolling a rare item. Minimal graphics and polygon models need to stop plaguing this genre. There's so many of them, and each one only seems to succeed in weapon combinations. Nothing about the environment is visually interesting except for it having a somewhat destructible environment and, on rare occasions, interesting NPC design choices.
the game is fun and in 15 hours i still didn't unlock everything (even if i already deteated the 3rd guardian), it take a lot of runs to unlock all the additional spells showed in the store page. i'm reading some complain that is too easy or too hard so i guess developer did a good job beacause as per every rogue-like style game it depends on the luck and decision you take during the run. i guess some rooms are too small and with traps placement a bit annoying i ecountered just one bug and was that one tentacle of the 2nd guardian became untargetable but it happened just once.
I played a bunch of the demo of this game, and bought it pretty much immediately upon release (hence the current low playtime). It's one of the first "Hades-like" games that I think really does try its own thing and doesn't just follow the same formula. One other thing I appreciate is that the demo feedback seems like it was taken onboard for the EA release (or at least some of it, including mine). There's a cool story here with interesting characters, and a decently interesting and complex combat system. The spell crafting takes some time to get used to, and I think there's room for more variety and depth through the early access, but I really think this is a great project so far. I'll be happily playing this through as development continues. Gameplay wise, this is slightly slower pace than Hades or Hades 2, but leans slightly more into a bullet hell feel than pure melee. Not that Hades I/II didn't have bullet dodging... they do... but here it seems a bit more prevalent. Pretty early on, the biggest threats come from not watching your surroundings and being surrounded by too many moving bullets. But I think going back to what I most appreciate is the story here. They really are trying to tell a story through the roguelite structure, instead of some other major roguelite games that really just wanted to copy the action formula. I enjoy that, and I look forward to the way this tale develops.
That is a good like hour of entertainment, I got to the forest boss soon in my 4th run, and I defeated it on that same run. I later used the Lighting fist thing to spam lighting balls and other abilities to make more of them, and gave it fire and ice effects and I can easily defeat anything in a couple seconds at most. As a example, I removed all the Hp from the training dummies in less than 2 seconds at the market town. I really liked this game, I just wished it would go deeper into the story. The only things I would say was bad are two things, there is a issue with the bridge before the first main boss, the forest boss, the bridge can stop your movement, which causes you to wiggle around before you can get past it. The second thing is that there is no content after the first main boss, the forest boss, as it shows nothing to click after it. I am forced to give up on that run and start a new one. My main combo would go so well once I get that extra piece for my spell, so I would love to see more content for this.
I have grown to like this game more and more than I think I would.
In its current state I don't recommend the game, it needs some balancing when it comes to the bosses, especially the first few. (The Luci fight is unfun/unbalanced for example) The game is amazing other than the balance, and I am sure they will address this in the future.
