EoA better known as Empty of Anything is Bandai's second fumble at a souls like with all the same problems Code Vein II had earlier this year (or was it last year? It's blurring together) It's a game where you're not allowed to have anything: Your are an NPC in an SAO fanfic with no bearing on your own story. It literally could exist without you. You are quite literally the well equipped NPC that gets summoned to go lawnmower adds and beat the game for the arguably main character Iori. (Although frankly that's a smart move on her part, the one thing this game does get right is characters jumping to sensible conclusions or reacting about as expected in their situation.) The combat is horrifically mismatched - enemies attack as if you're in a JRPG where getting hit is acceptable however you move as if you're in a souls game and if anything touches you, you will run into the Helldivers ragdoll problem except dialed up to 11. If you get really unlucky with enemy spawns, it is not hyperbole to say the game is unplayable - you literally will not get to press buttons, THE definition of unplayable. There is no such thing as a build. All weapons and Sword Skills do the same DPS but just have different animations. I gave up on all the weapon types, went 1 handed sword, dropped my shield and decided to just guard cancel the last normal slash things to death with Horizontal Quad slash - no not horizontal square, horizontal quad slash. That's it. That's my two moves. Do you have a favorite Aincrad era sword art character? Too bad. Cameos only. You are irrelevent and they are support characters to an MC, you contribute nothing, you lose, good day sir. Lastly the padding is horrendous in every aspect. Hold to confirm, hold to interact, the infamous 10 second Ark Barrier cutscenes that everyone has mentioned already by now which you will see once every 30 seconds. Even down to the map designs themselves. Imagine solving a maze by keeping your hand against the wall and following it - every route of travel is like that in this game. There is never a straight line, the map designers went out of their way to make sure even if two points are 20 yards from each other there's a spiral to connect them, every time, without fail, sometimes looping over itself. There is straight up nothing for anyone here. It's a bunch of over priced, mismatched pieces arranged in a social experiment to try and leverage SAO fans to help Bandai recoup losses from other bad products.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

not enjoyable just kind of a waste of time in my opinion it gets so boring and repetitive while exploring floor 2 I got so burned out that I had to uninstall the game at first the game was okay but after doing the same exact thing for 9 hours straight I started to get bored the characters aren't even good (that's spoilers so I will not get into it) for anyone who doesn't want to do the same thing over and over again, listen to your companions say the same 7 lines over and over again as well as fighting the same 5 or so enemies through the entire game don't touch this game if you don't mind the above and you for some reason enjoy SAO then go ahead and play this game 4/10 and that's being generous
This is at best a PSP game. The grind is for nothing. I playing this trash for completion now. I can't leave it but holy crap is it boring. I have fallen asleep playing. If you want to play it hope it drops on switch 2. The story also makes no sense. Kirito is the LONE swordsman, why the hell is he my partner in crime. Save your money please!!!!
E a história então...
Terrible
In short, its foundational. Something to be built upon. Unfortunately, I was tricked by the demo. I thought the demo was just a portion of what the game had to offer. If you want 85% of the game, just play the demo. While it has a great concept, it is very lackluster. For the current price of the game, I would expect a lot more. The world is locked into zones per mission. You can't go back to an area just because. You restart a complete mission, replay the cutscenes, have the same objectives, then complete the mission or simply teleport back to the town to finish. For me, it ruins the immersion and feel of the game. This mechanic turns the game into a chore and less of an enjoyable pass time. The enemy mobs are fun. I like the progression in difficulty and attack pattern tiers between the different types, there just isn't much of a variety in enemy mobs as a whole. You have under ten different types of enemies and with the skills and different weapons, there really is no variety. you just keep spamming. The towns are probably the most upsetting. You have a chest, the smith, the shop, and the main teleport gate to start or replay missions. Other than the very few NPC's that give side quests, there is no reason to explore or walk around the town. In the original SAO anime series, you had different job skills like smithing or cooking you could level up, there is nothing of that sort. The town shop becomes almost irrelevant. It offers items at an extremely low cost, but you can also craft everything. Being one of the four only things you can do in town, this effectively eliminates a quarter of the towns function. The smithing function is very plain. The only thing you can upgrade is your weapon. All armour has fixed stats. The chest, you can customize your outfit later on in the game. You can change the colours of certain parts of your armour and essentially apply a skin to your character. I enjoy this feature and can't complain too much. This feature probably is the best out of everything else. im getting bored of writing this review TLDR; The demo is pretty much the full game. For the current price of this game, its an expectation we see updates and improvements. Very plain and simple, not worth the current price. Very strong foundation and needs to be built upon.
So I'll be honest it's has some good and it's nice to see that side story of what others are doing while the main character is off saving everyone so it's a cool take on it. I have to give them credit there however.... It's like a running simulator and it's running, fight boss, running, fight boss and there's no real plan going on.... You one shot all the lessor monsters and the bosses are just bigger versions of the little ones and the biggest drawback is they ALL have that same damn wind/roar that you get stuck in so they become super easy to read and fight. That's stuff I could somewhat look past but auto Warp at the end of each quest???? Even side quests??? It's a massive MMO and it feels like I'm chained down to everything. I thought it was the demo so I got the full game cause it looked amazing but you fall 5 feet and you die, you can't climb anything and you go off the quest area and it teleports you back for leaving the quest area..... For a game based on the most freedom MMO in anime.... Your tied to a stump.... Will give them credit though the storyline is good but they could have do amazing things with the world. Wish it was cyberpunk 2077 or even gta open world and it would have been the best game of the year or at least one I wouldn't be regretting paying $75 after taxes for ....
Disappointing game. Had less than 10 types of mobs. They just change the colors throughout the game. Had Less than 5 Maps they just copy paste the same map over an over. Mostly empty maps. Plus your role is to become the best NPC. You get used the whole time and all you get to choose is to either nod or not do the quest? Like why even give the option? Also the MC, obviously not you, does not even remember your name. The game had such a really good base, but for some reason they stopped developing the game. It's crazy releasing this game as $70 full price when it should been $40 at most. The final bosses... you keep fighting them making it even more repetitive. So disappointing. It had so much potential. They also had the audacity to make you watch the credits twice. Should be embarrassed on releasing this. This is no way a finished game. For anyone want to try the game. Maybe wait until its $40 or less if you really really want the game. Otherwise just play the Demo. Game is basically Demo copy pasted multiple times.
