Echo Generation 2 is an Ok game, I love the art style. HOWEVER It is very short, the story is very disjointed, and I think it's a step back from Echo Generation. It is done episodically and feels like they didn't include a huge chunk of the story towards the end. The combat is "turn based" as in, character 1 goes, then the enemy goes, then character 2 goes, then the enemy. Which is fine until the end when you have to basically wait 3 entire boss turns before a character gets to go again. Overall....not as good as Echo Generation one but not the worst thing I've played.
Pretty fun but wish it was longer and wish I could replay chapters. I found the first game better as there was more of exploration secrets to find and side missions, this game there really isn't much exploration and once you complete a chapter that is it, you cant go back to get anything you missed. I don't want to start back at the beginning just to try to get missed items. Overall I still enjoyed the card battle type mechanics, however I hated some of the bosses that hide your cards, at that point there is no strategy really, you just got to hope you get what you need. Also the chapters are kind of disjointed, there are four chapters each revolving around a specific character or characters. None of them meet each other till after you completre these main chapters and they act chummy like they all gone on a long journey together even though they just met. I wish there was a better build up to this. Some characters I don't really understand how they got there to begin with. Nothing is explained in that regard. That being the said the games all have a bit of this disjointedness. Still would have been nice to have some of this fleshed out. Still if you enjoyed the first game I still recommend this one. I hope there is a 3rd game and I hope it improved on all these things.
Missing the atmosphere and really funny writing of the first game. So very disjointed and I feel myself not wanting to keep playing.
First i thought its graphical style is ugly. But the game is actually quite nice looking. Only three hours in, but till now i really enjoyed my time with it. Sadly i had to play the demo part again, i could have done without that. But the next chapter was great. Story and dialogues are nothing to write home about. The gameplay is incedibly fun tho.
Stranger things as a deck builder
Truly a shockingly bad game. Terrible controls, paper mario quick time events, (but bad and unhelpful) A complete misunderstanding of any aspect of quality. The demo is by far the most polished, and most fun part of the game. I didn't play the first one, and I can't imagine why people wanted another one if its anything like this. Everything is tedious, grindy, or a gotcha, (by the way, prepare for migraines, some sections are in black and white, but you can't adjust contrast or saturation, so its blinding and ugly. Also, you have to scavenger hunt pixels in the black and white section and it has an instant game over if spotted mechanic in the same area. Nothing about this game resembled anything enjoyable. Stay away. Stay far away. Forced minigames coded by AI I would imagine, it certainly was terrible.
Very good deck builder i knew i was going to love this game after playing the demo.
This game was good until the final tournament boss fight. The worst part is that there is no way to get stronger by level grinding or buy any new cards before the chain of bosses before it. The game also doesn't tell you your current objective so if you weren't paying attention to the dialogue, you can end up not knowing where you're supposed to go. As it being a short game, this is not worth over $20.
Great story, certainly worth giving it a try if you like story/sci-fi and cardgames.
