Game has a lot of heart. I hope this dev has the opportunity to make more games. Absolutely recommend for RPG lovers. + Length is good, does not overstay its welcome. 15 hrs to complete with most side content complete. + Graphics are interesting and varied throughout + Battle system is fairly fun but it felt like I was always out of SP/AP + Boom Boom is the best + Platforming is forgiving/easy so it doesn't waste your time trying to make progress + Plenty of save locations + Allows you to skip backtracking (do you want to immediately go to X?) - Music got a bit tiresome by the end - The way your 3 characters move around the platforms is really silly. Your main character keeps making the jumps while the other characters keep missing the jumps and its super distracting.
22 hours played to get through the game and I enjoyed every bit of it! It doesn't reinvent the wheel, as it's a classical turn-based RPG with a pixelized artstyle that's absolutely gorgeous, but it does bring a modern touch to an old genre that I quite enjoy and thought was refreshing! Definitely worth playing! I want more of this! :)
This is a real gem of an RPG, not necessarily great, but still quite good. Like a lot of indie games, it feels like Acts 1 and 3 of a 3-act play, but that's a common enough failing that I can't blame Beyond Galaxyland itself for such a common thing. It could use a bit more mechanical complexity, definitely some ability to build characters outside of equipment alone, but that doesn't take away from it just being a fun game to play. Could really use the ability to change clothes, though. Doug is *relentlessly* beige.
The price is right for this bite-sized RPG. The first thing you will notice is a lack of a lot of the polish you'd expect from an indie team, and the scope creep you'd expect from a solo developer. Beyond Galaxyland isn't a bad game by any means, but it's also a bit of a waste of time. 6 hours in and I have yet to meet a character, enemy, or plot point that isn't totally forgettable. The art style means that it never feels any characters are capable of feeling or displaying emotion so it has to be conveyed via the text. I am very surprised at the level of positive reviews this title has received considering you could be playing Hollow Knight instead.
Cute game. Decent job of not making the gameplay monotonous. Short game. Worth one and a half burritos.
Great game. Not too difficult, not too easy…a lot of fun with an obviously gorgeous art style, and lots to see and do. I came for the graphical style and stayed for the story, even though a game with platforming is NOT really my thing, lol. I personally like that you can grind a little—not that you need to, but I tend to stink at combat, so I always appreciate when the option is there. I don’t think there’s any reason to NOT get the game if it’s remotely your type of game, tbh. I have zero negative or critical things to even say about it.
It's a solid and fun turn-based RPG. The story is good, and it kept me entertained for the entire playthrough. When focusing on the main quest, the combat for me was rather easy, so I can even recommend it as a great entry point to the genre. The game also features some additional mechanics, such as races. The combat itself includes active blocking mechanics, abilities, passive trinkets, and a "pet-like" mechanic called summons. The most impressive part is that this is a solo indie-dev game, yet it still feels very polished. I didn't encounter any bugs or issues during my playthrough. It plays well on the Steam Deck, though for some reason it drains the battery faster than expected. Setting a lower TDP (5W) helped with that. I recommend this game to anyone looking for an indie RPG with a solid combat system that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Negative review solely because they didn't include cloud saves. I've had to restart the game twice due to losing save files when I reloaded my computer, I'm not keen to play it anymore. It could be the best game ever made, and this simple oversight is completely unreasonable in this day and age.
