Play EDF5 instead. Play any of the series other than this game which does not respect the player's time at all. EDF is known to be pretty grindy, yet the degree of that grind in EDF6 is so high, and not enjoyable! At least in other EDF titles it was fun to grind out weapons n' armor, here you better get 10k armor in order to tackle the "challenge" of Inferno. (Note: This requires an INSANE amount of commitment and time to get that much armor, even with cheats/trainers that pick up all items on the ground, which seems to be the standard for ANYONE who is still playing this. The gimmick, of the story, is screwing with time travel, which would be enjoyable but this just means you end up going through the same exact missions WITH VERY SLIGHT deviations, over and over again, including cutscenes, dialogue and waiting for mission triggers. I'm not kidding, they pad out the game time via retreading the same mission you've done, at least THREE TIMES. This is in addition to the varying difficulties that all the EDF games had, but now it's somehow far worse, since the overall missions are really not that great outside of maybe a dozen of them. It doesn't help that the "main character" of EDF6, which isn't the player, is incredibly unlikable, annoying, and you will listen to him talk about the same things, over and over and over again as you trudge through the main missions. What about the gameplay? It hasn't really changed, some classes get new items and others are.... just the same again. That's fine, except that doesn't make this game worth playing, especially if you've already played another EDF title. There's a couple new enemy types that are okay, uh, and others that make you go "why couldn't they just bring back Hectors". It feels more like a large expansion pack for EDF5 with a higher price tag. I dragged some friends through this game and there's no way any of them will end up finishing it. Most get burnt by the time you do a second rotation of the story maps (cause time travel) and I only hung on cause I paid for this. You might think, "Oh the story doesn't matter" which is fine, but somehow this might be the worst EDF story to date. Not only does it require you to revisit levels some of which are just CUTSCENES that the game still considers to be a "mission" (which means you have to load into the level, wait for the story to progress, and do it again if you want to clear each difficulty with each class. This game will make you hate it by the end of even the "normal" mission difficulty, provided you can avoid getting burnt out on the way.
i was gonna put a random quote from the game and call it good enough... HOWEVER, after finishing the main campaign, ive decided this game is worth more than that. it is an absolute master piece and i cannot praise it enough. i've played through EDF5 and thought it was honestly mid... but before playing this game, i HIGHLY encourage anyone considering this to play EDF5 first, this game is the sequel to EDF5, you do not need to play 3 and 4, let alone 1 and 2 (3 and 4 are remakes of 1 and 2) just play EDF5 and thats it, the older games suffer from... well... being old... not graphically, but gameplay wise they do. this game however, does not suffer AS MUCH from how the engine was made, ill elaborate in a list of PROS and CONS later. i've done my first playthrough on hard mode for both games personally, i would, however, suggest normal for anyone who isnt as comfortable with shooter games and dealing with tons of enemies (if youre struggling on hard after a few missions, turn it down to normal) alright here's the PROS and CONS CONS : - Graphics, due to having a ton of enemies on screen at once, the graphics take a hit, the game isnt ugly, far from it, but its not peak graphics - This game used to force you to use an Epic Games account, i hate that. Hopefully the devs have learnt from their mistakes and will never do this again. HOWEVER, i was not obliged to use Epic Games, so they have updated it. (i did remove a file in the game files after a friend told me to do so, look it up if the game starts pestering you with an Epic login request) - "♥♥♥♥♥♥" voice acting, which might push away people, i will also put this in pros later because it elevates the entire game when you know WHY it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (it is VERY MUCH done on purpose!) - adding this one after doing inferno, ive done inferno in edf5 with no issue, however, theres an issue here. some enemies do too much damage, their ai is too good and they are SPAMMED everywhere, this did not feel that way in edf5, inferno was just challenging, but still fun, this inferno starting at around 70th level is no longer fun... and a few missions before that are also not that fun. but this is SOLELY FOR INFERNO, an entirely OPTIONAL difficulty MEANT TO BE HARD. So i guess they did good if thats what their goal was, but to me, it was just not fun. - another thing ive noticed throughout the game is that, while it lets you use every class by spreading gear and armor between them (not evenly, it prioritizes your current class, but its still spreading it, and its entitrely rng based) you're gonna end up with not enough armor unless youre dying a LOT or are playing it in order of difficulty (i.e. if you're doing easy then normal then hard then hardest then inferno) this results in making armor the SINGLE MOST GRINDY THING in the ENTIRE game, like i have about half the weapons maxed out (the lil star next to them) but my armor is still only about 2.7k, some things in inferno just 1 shot you with that amount of armor (and by some i mean... a lot...) you can, however, mod this to "fix" it and still be able to play online regardless, just dont expect it to not be grindy if youre planning on doing inferno. PROS : - gameplay, if you want to use the same weapon type the entire game, you can! if you want the game to feel fresh every single mission and change weapons and class every time, you can! this was not a thing in EDF5 as you would only get weapons for your current class, but it is in EDF6! the gun play is nice, vehicles feel like vehicles and not just ultra responsive point and click turrets which is nice (i do think helicopters could use a bit of a rework with their control scheme but its alright as is, its basically how it feels to use a chopper in gta5) - enemy variation, go play the game, you'll understand, the designs are amazing as well in this one especially! - "♥♥♥♥♥♥" voice acting and dialogue, the game was written like one of those old 80s alien movies! i forgot the name of the movie it was based on, but the entire series of EDF is very much MEANT to be this way, it can get obnoxious but most of the time, it turns something you would otherwise feel sad and empty about into something you'll laugh at! peak comedic relief! - THE MUSIC. OMG ITS PEAK! ESPECIALLY THE MENU THEME FOR THE LAST MISSION! - multiple playstyles! you want your typical soldier? play Ranger. you want to be a big bulky guy with tons of weapons? play fencer. you want to be nimble and fast and want to have the single most damage on a single target? play wing diver (personal favorite, its very fast, gets a lot more fun later on) and finally... cant aim? play air raider (its sick as ♥♥♥♥, play it anyways) none of them feels especially underpowered except early game fencer, but this changes relatively quickly! - peak multiplayer, full loot share + level sync, if you want to experience the game with randoms and see the absolute insane chaos of having 4 air raiders on screen at once, this is the way! - it goes on sale often! all in all, 10/10. edit : ok to avoid the "glazer" tag, i will give it 10/ant instead. anyways here's the obligatory funny quote : "THEY LOOK JUST LIKE US! I CANT DO IT!" - random soldier, after seeing a frog. "do you remember what i told you yesterday?" "thats the rumor." *doesnt elaborate* "BALL SACKS" - random soldier "heavy tanks, retreat at once!" "WE CANT, THE ENEMY IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!" "humanoid aliens?" "extraterrestrial beings similar to humans" "you mean... aliens that look like humans?" "1 head, 2 eyes, with hands and feet, bipedal" "almost identical to humans, this is unbelievable" meanwhile, looking at frogs... "what exactly are we fighting?" "HOSTILE FORCES" ok this next one is actually sadly not in edf6, its from edf5 "those alien bastards look like they should be afraid of water... but they're NOT." ... you guessed it, he's looking at a frog, yet again.

5代的升级版,各个兵种都大大加强了可玩性,首先原价买非常贵,175大户人家可以考虑,80以内无脑入,关卡内容因为是轮回所以重复度比较高,但是问题不大,兵种的新内容也是可以支撑着这些问题。
A very lovely, janky game about killing 10 billion bugs and time as a concept. I'd highly recommend this if you have the brain worms for it!
Definitely recommended. It's quirky but fun. The series has the potential to become really exceptional but it kind of shoots itself in the foot every time. The developers treat it as if doing something like improving the UI between missions would somehow dispel the magic. So it has the same crappy menu/interface every game. Top complaints: 1. Netcode. By far the biggest problem with this game. Why is this so broken? Why have they not patched it? The game desyncs constantly even with just two players. This was not an issue in the last game. We discovered that if you do a dive-roll the game seems to sync up again. If you don't do that regularly you're likely going to blow each other up because the game is constantly desynced. 2. Armor/weapon box collection. Feels bad. I hate having to stall the end of the mission to go on a 8 minute box collection effort. Can we not just get credit for any uncollected boxes at the end of a mission? This part is not fun. 3. Vehicles. This is another one of those things where it's the same every game. Helicopters are insanely unwieldy and awkward to use, motorcycles feel like you're on a skateboard with how unstable they are. They're doing this on purpose to maintain the quirkiness, but the end result is that I skip using them most of the time because of how awkward the controls are. 4. Not being able to change my loadout during missions. Almost always you end up having to retreat and change weapons to something more appropriate to the mission because you didn't know what you would be facing on the first outing. Either let me change it on the fly at the start of a mission, or do a better job of letting us know what we're fighting. The mission picture doesn't always give it away.
if this twink scientist doesnt shut the actual ♥♥♥♥ up about how we are gonna lose and how half of humanity is gone im gonna 12 guage his ass.
the game itself is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good but until you play multiplayer it's an issue that you gradually notice more and more. at first it's like, desync? what is everyone talking about? but eventually it becomes clear that your teammates are always shooting at walls and ♥♥♥♥, somehow you kill each other even though you're no where near each other, and most importantly you lose the sense that you are fighting as a team, because you're all playing your own game, with your own enemy positions, sometimes enemies are dead on one person's screen but still alive on another. It's disappointing.
