About
Everything did not go according to the plan. Sooner or later, being in control of the refinery could slip away from your hands. And well… It did. The deadly Sawblade attack took everything from you. Your friend, Victor, is gone. Fuel gone. Equipment gone. Crew members gone. Time to assemble the first vehicle from scrap, gather a new crew and get back on track. There is no time to waste, because The Great Storm is coming.
As you embark on desert expeditions, combat will be inevitable. Take command of your crew and make the most of a wide array of weapons to survive and win your battles!
Dust Raiders features a dynamic economy system with demand and supply, and random events that can affect the market. You'll need to make strategic decisions about what goods to buy and sell to maximize your profits.

Helping struggling enclaves, finishing quests and gathering crew members will unlock new customization options for your vehicles.
In order to complete main story and side missions you will need to explore four huge hostile areas ranging from borders of Eternal Desert, through contaminated marshes and abandoned Polis.

5/10. Cool idea, suboptimal imlementation. This game was never going to be some kind of high-complexity grand strategy game and the merchanting is as barebones as it comes, but it still could have been a great game if it delivered on it's Mad Max Fury Road style vehicle combat. It doesn't. From the graphics to the gameplay, it just doesn't have that *feel*. All enemies look the same, feel the same, and you deal with them all using more or less the same set of tactics. I want spiky vehicles that look like a porcupine. I want vehicles buzzing with an impractical number of giant saws. I want flamethrower enemies to have active flames at the tips of their weapons even when they're not firing. I want grappling hooks. I want all the crazy stuff. And I want my own vehicles to have similar options. I want them to be able to more effectively utilize obstacles, such as using grappling hooks, spikes, etc to lock enemies in place. Outside of the combat screen, I want way more customization options. I don't like the fact that you're limited to 3 (ONLY THREE!?) vehicles in your whole convoy when you can hire over 30 crew, but it wouldn't be so bad if each vehicle wasn't limited to 2 weapons and 2 mod slots. And that's lategame. That's far too few. I want multiple weapons, manned by multiple crew members, and multiple mod slots for different types of mods. Then there's the bug, or rather, the oversight where if an enemy gets stunned while they're moving between tiles, they can't be pushed or interacted with, and they take partial damage from tile-based attacks because they're only partially on the tile. The in-combat pathing is absolutely stupid and needs to be micromanaged. The game would be improved if they got rid of "smart" pathing and simply had vehicles move directly in the direction you indicated either immediately, or as soon as the tile in that direction is free. Better yet would be to have the option of moving into a partially vacated tile. I've lost track of the number of times I had a line of vehicles trapping an enemy into an incoming cliff and they managed to slip in between my vehicles in the split fraction of a second it was "empty". And for a combat system with so little else going for it, losing those moments really, really stings. There are also some obvious quality-of-life changes this game lacks, such as allowing economic passives (fuel discounts, repair discounts, tribute discounts) to trigger from crew in the inventory. As it is, I simply swap the crew into vehicle slots, do the buying/selling, then swap them back out for my combat crew. It's just tedious and unnecessarily so. Game progression overall is basically a series of fetch quests. The jobs are similarly uncreative (fetch quest, delivery quest, kill quest), along with their rewards (always cash reward). Random events and randomly spawning objects of interest on the map are similarly non-exciting. Most of these complaints wouldn't hit as hard if the combat itself was fun, but when the combat is lacking, all these issues just make it worse.
Badlands Crew.
You get maybe 10-15 hours of content. the random events are crap and repetitive and mostly just waste your time. the points of interest are one-and-done so if you mess it up then forget it, might as well save scum. The trading is rudimentary. there are missable achievements and another one is bugged. The combat is annoying as the movement is real time but the attacks are turn based so by the time your weapon recharges the enemy has already moved out of the way. Also the rewards from combat are not enough to pay for the resources used so its not really worth it anyway. There are only two boss fights and they are both a joke. Most of the quests are fetch quests. Trading is basic with no depth. The only redeeming quality of the game is nice graphics, everything else about it just pissed me off.
Just finished the game. I could say it's an average or a little bit above average with the current content. If there will be more customisation and things to do in game i think the rating would go up for sure. Try it out. With the current price you won't regret it.
https://youtu.be/tyU4lOsPohc 🏜️ Critique Steam – Dust Raiders
THIS GAME IS HOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dustland delivery is better then this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The game plays kind of like Taipan from the 80s but with a fuel mechanic and real time tile combat instead of pressing space when 8 bit ships cross in front of your cannon. I feel like the game is giving you the illusion of open world but it's fairly heavily leashed by pushing the story line, especially in the early game. World building is pretty good, what little I saw of the factions and stuff is good.

A fun Mad Max themed survival game... Also has story quest. Game has seen a lot of updates so game is good to buy. Has also 3 difficulty settings to play and raid mode to enjoy only combat. 8/10 Gameplay 6/10 Sound and music 8/10 Fun factor A gem of a game.
