i wont say the game is bad. i will however say the game is tedious. the game never uses more than a gig of memory but there are 4 loading screens from starting the game to actually playing the game. then there are two unskippable walls of text with a drawn out fade out fade in before you can start playing. then there is another wall of text that doesnt matter every single time you start up the game. a hallmark of a good roguelite is getting back into the game without wasting the players time. this game faceplants hard on this and wastes the players time. then there is the choices in game. with three different weapons types, laser kinetic and missile only one is completely inneffective against its defence measure at tier 1 that is kinetic. the kinetic defence completely overpowers the tier one kinetic weapon to a sad degree. the tier one laser and missile weapon can overpower their defensive measure but the kinetic cant. every single combat encounter you have to manually target the same things every single combat. defensive measures then power then weapons. every single encounter. i cant say its bad. just tedious and monotonous.
FTL/Rimworld mix sounds like an interesting concept, the problem is that there wasn’t enough work put into the game to make it good.

Extremely micro heavy.Having to target your weapons individually at the exact same things in the exact same enemy ships becomes annoying extremely fast. Moving suffocating workers to take a breath and moving them back to repair the hole in the hull is extremely annoying (yes, you could do that in FTL with 5 crew, here tho you will have 30+ crew). The same goes for combat preparations, as you either don’t bother with them and your workers will waste time getting to the battle stations when combat has already started, or you have to micro every single one of your gunners (up to 12) and engineers to their posts before the combat starts - and Rimworld had a defensive setup for ages at this point.
A lot of downtime. When you are not in combat you basically have nothing to do but to set the game at max speed and wait while your crew mines asteroids.
RNG difficulty. You got an enemy with weapons you didn’t get a defense against? You are dead. Didn’t get upgrades for your guns? Dead. Got an enemy that you have defences against? You can alt-tab from the game as you aren’t able to lose.
Zero variety. On paper you have 3 types of weapons with 3 weapons each+1 superweapon, but you will most likely get all of them in every single run, and there is no meta-progression with unlocks to open up something new. And the exact same goes for everything - you will have all the modules, all the defences and fight all the enemies in exactly one run - after that it will just be a matter of order for those unlocks.
Mechanics are at odds with each other. Namely you have weapon types and defences from said weapons. On one hand you have synergy bonuses for getting various guns in one run, on another - each enemy has all 3 types of defences, so you will be much more effective if you get one type of damage to overwhelm defences. And if you are still insisting on using different types - here comes the next problem.
Broken scaling and poorly implemented roguelike mechanics. To put it simply - whatever weapon type you buff from the start will become extremely OP and just melt through enemies. To make things worse - with infinite scaling for ROF and DMG the best gun will be the one that has the fastest projectiles ( to minimise the damage taken from enemies), so your already limited choice of weapons is even further reduced by making missile weapons non-viable. And it is reduced even further when you realise that your gunner gets a 700% shot CD reduction, eliminating the only problem that super weapons had and making any other weapon just useless.
Horrible meta progression. First - it is EXTREMELY grindy. Like A LOT. Second - instead of unlocking some stuff you are just straight up buying things. Wanna start with a super weapon unlocked? Here you go. Ridiculous damage reduction for crew? Here you go. And while there is an option here to make your game harder - for whatever reason those options need the same exact slots that your power ups do, so you are either buffing yourself or the enemy - that's IF you grinded enough resources to unlock the slots in the first place.
It was somewhat OK for the first time - when I was figuring out what to do, but after this initial run the game simply becomes boring. The game needed much more time in the oven to add variety and content, but in its current state it is just not worth buying.
Its nice I liked it. Its not a rogue lite that you will get pretty much stronger per each run (unless you use gadget for that) Its a mini base building and defend in waves while mining for cash. Good gameplay. But overall its a nice fun game, I played 9h, tried different things, I was able to finish a normal run no problem. For the price it was worth it.
not sure how this compares to FTL but I love it
easy to pick up and yet difficult. alot of strategy. could implement multiplayer... but really fun to play
It's an OK game. Repetitive after a short amount of time, but ok.
Not that great can do really well one minute then next battle just get killed the Difficulty is so random fight to fight. it gets really old fast having to build each time without having any presets
Its less a station building game than a lesser version of FTL with the enemies coming to you. Build weapons. blow up ship. repeat ad nasuam. Some people might like this but to me? no. i would rather play FTL
