this is one of my favourite games of all time. it has a beautiful soundtrack, hand-drawn visuals, and full and well-directed voice acting. the story isnt really groundbreaking but i think its well executed and i love seeing peoples reactions to it. every time i watch a new playthrough i fall in love with it all over again. if you can stand anime-leaning artstyles and metroidvania gameplay, please give this game a shot. the love that went into its creation is so clear.
Great metroidvania if you're not used to them. bump up the difficulty a notch or two.

Great adventure game! They need to make a part 2!
I owned this game on my 360 way back when, and I put so many hours into playing and replaying this game. The art style is beautiful, the gameplay is really fun, and the voice acting, while corny at times, really grows on you as you play.

Must play only for the game art that is truely beautiful. Classic metroidvania but kinda poetic.

i originaly played dust an elysian tail on 360 got all but one achivment sadly before i replayed it my 360 kicked the bucked and at the time of writing this review i have fulfiled a promise i made to get the game again and this time 117% it will all achivments and i have done just that, i do hope we get a sequal oneday, but if you need a reason to play this game all i can say is just take the plunge i doubt you will be disapointed, a metroidvania that helped get me in to them and has made it a genra i love to this day
This is a fairly short game, with absolutely beautiful art, interesting locations, and some moderate to difficult puzzles. It's part action RPG, part Metroidvania, and if you've ever felt really sad about struggling to 100% a Metroidvania, this one is challenging enough to feel satisfying when you do it, but also not so hard that you totally could (I say, having missed a treasure or two myself, lol.) I know a lot of people have mixed feelings on the voice acting, but I personally liked it just fine. I mean, I was under the impression that Dust was some kind of revenant right from the opening scene, and it seemed appropriate to me that he'd talk like that. (Was I right? Play yourself and find out.) As for the storyline - I mean, no, it's not a groundbreaking story, but it's fine. It flows, most of the characters are pretty likeable, the progression is fine. You can tell the writers had fun. Gameplay wise, I always prefer platforming style things to action style fighting anyway because I always seem to be bad at combos, so I'm not the person to ask about spamming attacks and how thrilling that is. I think given the amount of gameplay and the cost, it's reasonable and worthwhile.
