Played through the game coop and yes it's unpolished and there is a ton of jank but we had a blast and I'm looking forward to going through it again.
Game will not launch
Don't bother, co-op no longer works and the game isn’t worth playing on its own: a paper-thin storyline, repetitive enemies and mechanics, PowerPoint-style cutscenes, and a combat system lacking in depth, there are way better options out there.

It's a "meh" if i were to be honest. Originally I was annoyed the level maxxed out at 10, felt way to low. It's age now forces you to update*.ini files so you can play it on a modern machine, and hide graphics bugs that no longer have the ability to run. But it's a DND Game, and here I am, playing it again. UPDATE: Final boss has mechanics thar are REQUIRED. i'm playing a fighter, which has AC and DMG enough to finish him without the mechanics, but it just resets until you play the way it was coded.... that makes this a "meh, nah"
delivers what it advertises; a nice hack and slay
Not as good as Dungeons and Dragons Heroes, but if you like having an excuse to play another Diablo-like game, it gets the job done.
When it crashed for the first time, I figured that was enough playing this trash. Gamespy is dead, and even if it wasn't, the multiplayer would've never lived. This janky mess of a game ruins its own flow by constantly interrupting whatever you're doing, just to tell you something of no importance, and de-spawning enemies that would've given you that valuable XP. Speaking of XP: the game's level cap is 10! All because they were planning on releasing two DLCs at a later date, each increasing the level cap by 10 and only then would you actually wrap up the story. Imagine if you were playing a tabletop campaign that required you pay $10 every time you wanted to play, and you didn't even get to create your own character. On top of that, the DM never lets you speak to actually play or enjoy the game, the leveling is significantly slowed, the main story and side quests are as boring as watching paint dry, and you were the only one at the table with the DM... sounds like it'd suck, right? That's what playing Daggerdale is comparable to. Avoid at all cost.
Not much, and didn't age well either.
A game with zero character and barely a narrative that dares to call itself "Dungeons and Dragons", the game about characters and narrative. Unless you like being shoved into a box and forced on a slow, tedious grind for nearly no reward, don't bother.
Lots of fun if you like the 4 member party in a classic D&D game.
