It seems this game no longer playable. You have to have a Game Spy id/login, the game offers the link to create the id, however, Game Spy no longer exists and you cannot play the game without this. Don't waste your money on this game.
This game is certainly no were close to being in the hemisphere of some of the Great games in the D&D franchise (like the Baldur's Gate series etc.), but if you are looking for an arcade like hack and slash (think Gauntlet) you could do worse than this game. On windows 11, you will need to install .net Framework 3.5 to get this to run (go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, Turn windows features on and off). Otherwise this game will crash.

There are graphics and lighting glitches, it's not terribly long, and no, it's not D&D. I've been playing D&D since the 80's, and I can promise you that actually playing D&D is the only way you're going to have that experience, not playing video games. If you take out all the "it's an insult to D&D" rage, it's a clunky, weird, not-especially-great, not-completely-bad hack and slash. I played through the entire thing in about 15 hours with my wife (couch co-op is a plus), and more or less enjoyed the time. Get it on sale for a few bucks, play it with a friend, and moderate your D&D fantasies, and you'll probably have an okay time.
i remember playing this when it first came out ages ago - it was a blast back then and the changes made to it to play on modern computers just helped
I loved this on Playstation when it first came out and decided to play it again when I realized it was on Steam. Unfortunately, although I was enjoying the game, textures for my character weren't loading in and resolutions wouldn't adjust. I submitted for a refund. Sadly, it's a fun (albeit, basic) game that scratches the D&D/dungeon crawler itch. But, the graphic bugs ruin the experience. Oh well. Dark Alliance 2 might be my next purchase.
Feels like an unfinished game.
I've had this game for years and never made it to the first save point. I usually lose interest after about 30-40 minutes and there's no manual save option.
This game is boring, bad and broken. Not worth the price or effort.
Played through the game coop and yes it's unpolished and there is a ton of jank but we had a blast and I'm looking forward to going through it again.
Played this game years ago. Reinstalled now the game does not work, will not launch.
