About
Dungeon Trail is an abstracted dungeon crawler where you send adventurers on a quest, making use of dice manipulation to overcome challenges.
The archfiend known as the Lord of Greed awoke from his slumber to spread chaos throughout the world. As the Guildmaster, you are tasked with hiring adventurers and guiding them on a quest to stop him. But how are newbie mercenaries from a small town guild meant to defy such odds?
In the world of Dungeon Trail, Fate is an entity that loves gold and will accept bribes in exchange for second chances. Whether an attack would fail to hit, a trap would hurt too much or an enemy blow would result in certain death, a little gold coin can be offered to change one's immediate destiny.
Where's the fun of gambling without a little cheating? Dice manipulation isn't only allowed, it's encouraged with Tricks, which are consumables that allow you to determine specific results easily. We can't let leave everything up to Fate...
Embark on an adventure where managing resources (be them gold, health or human lives) is everything and the difference between perishing or profiting is decided by dice throws.
Your party can be substituted easily should any of them perish. If the difficulty feels overwhelming, a Prestige mechanic allows you to go back with more resources and start over stronger.
A new challenge every run: Events are randomized every time you play for maximum dungeon crawling goodness.
Change destiny: use gold to reroll your way out of dangerous situations or into good fortune, or Tricks to change specific dice to predetermined results!
15 Character Classes, leading to over 1365 possible final party configurations! Will you prioritize battles, safety or gold farming?
80+ enemies to battle, with abilities that will require attention and a lot of luck to get through!
Easy to pick up, hard to put down: Gameplay designed to be played in short bursts, with autosave on every Town and a Prestige feature to give players a smoother restart if they fall on hard times late in a run.
No microtransactions: dive deep into the fun part of gambling without any real world consequences.

A wonderful twist to an old-school JRPG-type of game. At first it seems this game is impossible (especially if you have bad luck with your rolls) but as you play the game and learn more about the different classes and mechanics, you start to find out how to min-max your rolls the best way possible. For example, healers are very valuable because it's one of the few free heals you get (at the end of battle). By maxing out on healing, you can survive a lot of hits and your guys get healed at the end of every battle, which is extremely useful in a game like this. The general strategy seems to be to go all-in on one strategy at first, but then start to divest later in the game. Overall, I really enjoy this game and had a great time. Will continue to play it and can't wait to see how it comes along.
Dungeon Trail is one of those games that instantly hooks you with a simple idea and then surprises you with how deep and addictive it becomes. The core concept of manipulating dice to overcome challenges is brilliant, and it turns every encounter into a tense little puzzle where strategy and risk-taking go hand in hand. The battle system is especially satisfying. Instead of feeling like pure RNG, the dice mechanics give you meaningful control through gold and Tricks, allowing you to bend fate in clever ways. Deciding when to spend gold for a reroll or when to use a Trick creates constant, exciting decisions during combat. It feels tactical, unpredictable, and incredibly rewarding when a risky play pays off. Another highlight is the soundtrack. The music fits the game perfectly and adds a lot to the atmosphere of the adventure. It manages to feel adventurous, tense, and sometimes even a bit mischievous, matching the gambling-with-fate theme really well. It’s the kind of soundtrack that keeps you immersed and makes each run feel like a proper journey. The variety is also impressive. With so many character classes and possible party combinations, every run feels different and encourages experimentation. The randomized events and enemies keep things fresh, and the Prestige system makes it fun to jump back in and try again stronger. On top of that, the game respects the player's time with quick sessions, autosaves, and a design that makes it easy to play "just one more run" (which usually turns into several). If you enjoy roguelike dungeon crawlers, dice mechanics, or games that mix strategy with a bit of luck, Dungeon Trail is absolutely worth your time. The combat system is clever, the music is fantastic, and the whole experience is incredibly addictive.
A very solid, retro gambling game. Build variety is based around risk vs reward tradeoffs and how much you want to risk on eco in the early game before you invest in your core combo of party members. I haven't beaten the last stage yet but so far there's enough replayability. Good on Steam Deck and worked out of the box on Bazzite for me. My review may or may not be influenced by getting triple sixes on the slots 3 times in a row.
For me this worked great as a chill time waster on the Steam Deck during some commutes (I played a good bunch but it didn't count the Steam Deck time) Straightforward but engaging enough combat system and neat retro dungeon crawly vibes.
Gambling. Pure gambling.
Played the demo, excited to play the rest of this amazing game
Party wiped to a skeleton named Bone Jovi, 10/10 Cheating as a core mechanic is pretty cool, the enemy skills change the context of rolls dramatically. Tricks are something I wish I saw in other games. Good music and anime art.
