Rather boring puzzle game. Everything felt tedious and the puzzles are mediocre at best. Meh.
The wonderful, low-poly world is what drew me into this game. I love the environment so much that I tried my best to ignore the rough bits of this game. I was doing alright until the Sun section of the main game, where
some platforms disappear if you stay on too long. I had to restart the game in order to pass it
. When I beat the main game, I wasn't quite sure if I'd recommend it, because I had a decent time when I figured it out. I just loved the visual feast provided here, and thought that might override the not-so-great jumping exercises. During the bonus game (available after the main one is finished), there is a section where
you do some platforming on blocks, avoiding the invisible ones
. There, the checkpoint system was far too unforgiving. When it comes to platforming in first person, it's quite easy to make mistakes, so more attempts & checkpoints will be needed. This was one of those times where I was just so close to the end, that I felt like I couldn't rest until I finished up, so I continued. The very last part is
the labyrinth in the sky that you can see in the thumbnails. This is the worst case of bad game design in the whole damn game. It's extremely slow and tedious, but you have to pay attention just enough to avoid falling off. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable or rewarding about navigating it. I can't even imagine the irritation I'd have if I had slipped.
As I'm typing this, I can feel my muscles still being tense after just completing it. The journey was superficially nice enough to gloss over the unfavourable bits, with the end making me wonder why I didn't leave earlier. No regrets, though, as I learned quite a lot.
Keep in mind, this is the REMAKE of the game, not the game of 2015 but now 2019, so all the reviews from back then are not valid anymore! Absolute fun puzzle game, it starts really easy and dull, but suddenly it turns up it's notch and puts you back on your seat, embaffled, puzzled but intriged!
Also hoping that the Developer is not abandoning this game, for me, it's a GEM and I want to see it getting developed untill full completion! Sure, some puzzles are not really puzzles. The ones that gives you a powerup for your glasses, feels like a joke. I would suggest, put projectile shooters that periodically shoot an arrow or fireball from one side to the other, while you are trying to light up all the tiles. PLUS: That sound it makes, everytime you light up a tile, it's quite annoying. Or use a softer comfortable sound, but not that high crisp tone. When you get stuck on a puzzle, you can access your journal, to see a hint. I tried not using the journal too often, because I like to fiddle things out myself first. I got stuck at a puzzle, which I believe is bugged. It should show me a hint, but nothing happens. I tried everything, no budge. So I will await for a fix. Really enjoyed this experience! The entire highlight of my stream untill I got really stuck: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/603731520
Verdict: It's an interesting and fun journey with puzzles that increase difficulty over time, uses a system with the glasses which is quite refreshing and it kept me busy for 3+ hours, in combination with the price (even though it's not finished yet) - I recommend it!
Клип на песню «I Don't Love You» группы My Chemical Romance вышел 19 лет назад (премьера состоялась в марте 2007 года).
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
The sound and map design are good, but man, those are some bad puzzles. • The very first one involves quickly jumping from platform to platform on a timer - if you fail, you need to start over from the beginning. • Another involves carrying heavy objects a large distance on a timer, and if you can't make it on time (which you absolutely cannot), you have to sit and twiddle your thumbs while your stamina recharges. • Another is a large room with 100+ buttons. You need to hit every button. There's no timer or anything, just mindlessly hit every button. I'd only recommend this one to hardcore puzzlers who have played everything else already.
OMG it's just cheap. It's borring. Have no pacing. It's ugly because everything is untextured, but the sun and clouds are sprites and it was distracting. If your game is "styilized" stick everything to one style or else it will look like the game is slapped together. Which is probably true for this title.
Treeker: The Lost Glasses - Classic + Remake Edition is a low poly first person adventure/platformer games. Solve some puzzles, jump on some platforms. You get a pair of glasses that helps you see invisible stuff, which is probably better for you than drinking enough 4-Loco to achieve the same effect. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Treeker: The Lost Glasses - Classic + Remake Edition is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Unfortunately Steam reviewers aren't presented with a "Maybe" option... if they did, that's what I'd choose. This isn't a completely bad game, but it's also not one of the best. As always, if you read my review and you can overlook the negatives I've called out, or they just aren't important to you, then by all means go ahead and buy this.
Beat it in 50mins, really not worth playing unless you are super bored and get this for free.
