About
Dungeon Settlers is a dark fantasy strategy game that combines colony simulation and dungeon crawling. As the leader of an expedition sent by the Guild, your mission is to explore, conquer, and destroy the dungeon which is the source of all calamities. To do so, you’ll need to build a settlement in the barren land and prepare your people for the dangers ahead.
This is a ‘Hardcore Strategy’ game. Train your members strategically by considering their equipment, skills, and traits, then form a party of up to four. In real-time with pause tactical combat with no turn or round limits, analyze enemy traits and patterns to outmaneuver them and achieve victory. But remember once dead, there is no coming back...

Build a settlement in the desolate land, isolated by magical erosion. Design rooms freely by placing walls and doors to meet your members’ needs—create bedrooms and dining areas, and set up a forge with anvils and smelters. Cultivate fields to grow crops. Manage your resources efficiently to survive, and produce rations and camping supplies for the next expedition. Unlock new buildings and equipment through research.

Each member has six major abilities and talents, along with dozens of combat and life-related stats. They also possess various traits based on race, background, and personality—such as a curious Lizardman with a drifter’s past. Recruit promising candidates and help them grow through leveling. Equip them with powerful equipments and carefully build a four-member expedition party with synergistic skill trees such as sword/mace/bow/fire magic.

Combat takes place in real time, but you can pause at any moment to think strategically. Plan your tactics using a variety of effects and mechanics—stun, bleed, burn, provoke, vulnerable, charge attacks, summons, and more. Position your party wisely, exploit enemy weaknesses, and utilize your skills at the right time. Even hopeless battles can be overcome with the right strategy.

Each dungeon expedition is randomly composed, with floors and rooms changing each time. Regions apply different random environmental effects. The deeper you go, the rarer and more valuable the resources become—but so do the threats. You’ll encounter the remnants of magical experiments, such as towering golems or acid-spitting monsters. Secure wood logs, herbs, gemstone veins, and mysterious mandrake. Trade with dungeon merchants, and face ancient tree that demand blood to bear forbidden fruit.

Played through the first Dungeon all the way to the boss. I had a lot of fun, my first settlement wiped and I started to get a handle on the game mechanics on my second run. Everything is set up in a way to be very understandable while also being challenging when it needs to be. My only gripe is the inventory needs more ways to sort items and transfer to and from characters. I'm wishing you the best! I can't wait to see this game given more life!
Great challenging game, 10/10

Love the gameplay loop. Need some QoL (eventually) updates but this looks extremely promising.
Before this, I never touched colony sim games... For this having taken my colony sim virginity, I am thankful. I'm amazed that this is only in early access. The premise is interesting, the classes/races are interesting, the skills are useful and interesting, and the base building is interesting. Sometimes a recruit will have an affinity for a skill they cannot upgrade which is a little frustrating and the skill trees could be larger. I have no doubt that they will continue to expand this game into something even more beautiful than it is already.
the auto skill seems to not always works. a little bit frustrating on that
The game is only as frustrating as it is at times, because with how much it does right, it feels really bad when there is something it doesn't. With the game being in early access, I don't feel like it's fair to just focus on the negatives, as I'm sure they will be improved upon. So I'll focus on the positive aspects of the game first. Starting with the tutorial the game picks up really promising, whilst I feel like most tuorials in games nowadays are just meant to shield the publisher from critizism of IGN playtesters and need to be skipped through by every human being with an IQ above room temperature, this game take it's time to explain it's mechanics in a tempo that feels neither to fast nor condescending, whilst pretty much covering everything. After that the game progresses steadily whilst throwing both challenges and new and at times overpowered loot at you, which makes exploring actually worthwhile, whilst not making it to easy on the player. Leveling your party and trying out new skills, aswell as combining the passive skills of other classes with your main class keeps the game interesting as this should offer a lot of replayability. The random events feel unique for a while and offer more support for even more playstyles in the form of unique loot. And the dungeon generation always offers new challenges whilst maintaining a balance with the loot you get from them. Even after playing through most of what the current build of the game I still find new room layouts from time to time (and I imagine that will only get better as the game gets more updates). Now to what I personally feel are the weak points of the current version of this game. The classes feel really unbalanced. Archer and a shield/blunt combination feel necessary, fire mages are interesting but definetly need a bit more attention, even though they probably are the 3rd strongest class, the nature mages feel alright once you have a strong enough frontline and water mages haven't really done anything for me except pull aggro of random enemies with their summons and split my party up with the ice wall spell, which led to my backline dying whilst my frontline sat on the other side of said wall, waiting for it to melt. The other 3 classes swordsman, greatswordsman and spearman feel different enough from each other, but are neither tanky enough nor do they deal enough damage to realistically play them outside of just testing them out. Resources are thrown at you at random times which feels insanely inconsistent, making the game easier at times whilst bleeding you dry shortly after, which isn't necessarily a negative, but feels confusing when you get one of the best materials on the second floor of the first dungeon and don't see it again for the next 10 dungeon clears. To stay on topic of resources, you barely get any stone which makes the current late game feel tedious and unrewarding. The races barely matter apart from the fact that every frontline that isn't a lizardman evaporates at the sight of every enemy past the first dungeon. The pathfinding of both you and enemies feels horrid at times, especially when it leads to your party just freezing in space because there is an enemy behind a thin wall which they can't see. Auto-skill should have a skill order or something which allows you to have more control over it, apart from toggling spells and it led to my tank being stuck on a floating island in the second dungeon because he dashed to a slime which had split right next to a cliff, leading to it spawning partially in an inacessable area, which feels like it shouldn't be able to happen but is really just a funny interaction I wanted to share. The inscriptions are really weird, because you technically can reroll them infinitely without any penalties and there are some which just make parts of the gameplay completely obsolete (the inscription of recovery for example wich leads to you basically not having to rest in a dungeon ever). And last but not least, I dont feel like the character backgrounds and personality traits don't really affect anything apart from the fact that it's quite amusing to see my tank in a bad mood, because of "racial hatred", as he is racist against lizardmen, despite being a lizardman himself. In conclusion, while yes this game isn't polished, it is an insanely fun experience and I'm certain that as time goes on it will only get better as there is quite a bit to be improved upon. Still in my personal opinion it is pretty worth picking it up right now already. I'm almost certainly going to put quite a few more hours into playing this game and I'm really exicted as to what future updates will bring to it.
