Yes it’s not ground breaking or impressive, but that doesn’t matter especially for a cheap game that focuses on the horror aspect and atmosphere. The game’s atmosphere has a feeling of dread and claustrophobia. It’s really well executed and pretty impressive in terms of atmosphere, especially for a $5 experience. 🎮Gameplay - The gameplay is pretty simple. You go down into the basement and you find a key and clues about the hotel and leave. Leaving can be the tricky part. You have to find a switch to turn on the power to the other lift. Now that may sound easy, but with threats lurking around and a twisty maze of halls this challenge may be difficult for some. It was actually a pretty fun challenge I had and felt pretty fun since I never played a horror game like this before. The jumpscares at first felt pretty good and even got me spooked a few times. I will say that the jump scares did get repetitive after a while since the creativity for the jumpscares didn’t feel that great from a longevity standpoint. The game can get a bit more difficult in the later stages but nothing worth complaining about. 📜Story - The story revolves around you being stuck in this creepy hotel while having constant nightmares during the day and waking up at night. When you wake up in your hotel room, new events transpire around you. You dream about being in this basement filled with fear, dread, and horror. This basement has clues about the gruesome past that haunts this motel and it’s your quest to find the truth behind this incident. The more clues you find through your dreams, the darker the truth lies within. 🕛Playtime - The levels are RNG so that can add replayability to the game. There are no achievements and the game is pretty short. Overall you may have around 5+ hours of playtime. 🎧Sound - The sound design is pretty solid. The ambiance is pretty spooky and gives a feeling of dread. Some jumpscares are pretty cheesy in terms of them using super loud sounds to scare you. It’s not all bad since some sections are generally scary. Being able to hear some entities in the distance walking around in the darkness has a special fear factor that I generally enjoy and scares the sh*t out of me. ❗Bugs❗- Not many bugs here. Some minor ones I see like objects clipping through walls at times, some lighting issues, etc. 🔅Performance - The game runs really well as expected. A solid 60fps with no crashes, stutters, or crashes. I smooth experience I feel everyone will have since this game is not that demanding in terms of performance. ✔️Pro’s✔️

Spooky moments
Creepy atmosphere
SImple mechanics
Extra unclockable
Procedurally generated maps
Each dungeon gets much more challenging
Solid graphics for a Indie horror game
❌Con’s❌

No volume slider
Jumpscares get repetitive
Pause menu doesn’t really work as the game is still running in the background
🏆Rating - 7/10 This game is worth full price. 🔗Conclusion - I really enjoyed this game despite its short length. The concept felt pretty really cool and I enjoyed the gameplay mechanics. This game can provide a great scare especially if you have a fear of the dark and enjoy a puzzle like maze with a spooky twist. A fun experience and I recommend streaming this as well with a friend. It has a fun stream-like vibe to it, just make sure the room is dark and don’t look back. https://store.steampowered.com/app/382090/Dungeon_Nightmares_II__The_Memory/

It's unfortunate, that I have to leave a negative review, but sadly I didn't find the game to be scary, only really repetitive and tiresome. All there is to do, is enter a maze and find the same item every time. The maze itself is very boring and uninspired and offers nothing but a few jumpscares with the occasional traps. The sections between the maze feel much better, those actually include good scares and set pieces, however most of my time is spent on empty hallways and sterile looking rooms. The nail in the coffin is the death system that sort of leaves it up to chance whether you die or not. I don't think a dice roll is a compelling gameplay mechanic.
This game could've been a decent atmospheric horror game but the gameplay itself is just horrible. Basically ends up with you in the dark searching every single surface for a stupid switch to get an elevator working while mostly walking very slowly because if you run out of stamina something bad happens. Enemies will occasionally spawn in your way forcing you to run away and makes things take even longer. Oh and then they decide to put time limits on some later levels to add to the fun. I'd go find a youtube playthrough to watch instead of buying this mess. Make someone else suffer through the gameplay.
I was enjoying myself so much, being scared the whole time for those first few levels. Then...the time limit levels came in and that time limit became my only thing I was worried about. I was running past the monsters and no longer scared of them at that point cuz I no longer had time to be scared of them, they became nothing more than obstacles I would run by because that damn time limit is so short and the map rng is always just gonna have me beat the level by luck. The developer should remove that time limit or at least make it long enough to keep you in fear of the monsters and not some stupid time limit. the moment I stopped being scared because I had to rush the levels is when the game became no longer scary or fun.
Really wanted to give a thumbs up, but not doing so even if it's one of my favorite horror/jumpscare/scary game. The tension in this game is really good, but unfortunatelly the main reason for the thumbs down is the game over *chance* when you die. The game could exist (and would still be fun) without this mechanic, I really don't know why developers thought on adding this. For those who don't know what I'm talking about: When you die in this game, sometimes you wake on your room again just before you went on the mission you died, and sometimes you'll get a screen with two doors. One you'll wake on your room before you went on the mission you died, and the other one is game over. No hints, no nothing, just have to start everything all over again. And as the levels are randomly generated is not like "oh, now at least I know where to find that and that". Still, whenever I have the opportunity I'm buying this game to some friends who are scared, I know they don't hit the mark of the game over gambling frustration because they wont play that much, they'll always hit the first chase, prob die, wake on their room, quit the game and never ever open it again XD I love this game, saw many many youtubers playing the first one so many years ago when I didn't own a pc, but this game over thing sucks to try and play it seriously.
