Reviewed with Valve Index and Index Knuckles
✔️Love the Idea works well 👍🏻 ✔️Music is Great & Loud 👍🏻 ✔️Drumming doesn't wear you out 👍🏻 ❌Tapping sticks at a lower angles needs work ❗ Drums of War - Commentary by The Mummy https://youtu.be/CKFSrruNnzc I really like this game ❗ I like standing or seating games every once in awhile. That don't have a ton of movement required. This one keeps you engaged with its action unfolding in front of you. You'll need some strategy as you advance on the dwarfs and other AI. 💯 Easy Recommend for Music Lovers, FPS Shooter Fans and even your kids will get a kick out of this one 🥁
Drums of War is an unique VR game. Move and aim with the drums. Since I am a guitar and drum fan I liked the ingame music. The game has a good variety of diffirent enemies. You can also get backup by free some orcs from prison. I played with the Vive and everything worked fine. Watch my first gameplay here: https://youtu.be/jysAuLa5d64
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program You can view my gameplay along with initial impressions here: https://youtu.be/i4b8dFtEIkA So first off, I have not finished the game. I have finished the first level (+boss fight) and have done a little bit of level 2 as well as the Jukebox mode. So this isn't a full review, but I think I have experienced enough to at least give some informative perspective on this game. I did have fun and the soundtrack is awesome. The gameplay is easy enough to learn and it has quite a bit of challenge, especially as you progress in the stages / levels. However, the graphics are a let down for sure. There's no way around that. I also experienced some lag spikes / frame rate drops, although the game ran fine for the most part. I didn't notice many other issues other than the normal clipping through objects and the lack of game settings. If you're expecting a music rhythm game similar in quality to Beat Saber, then you'll be disappointed. I know I keep saying that in my reviews, but it is so true that I have to keep repeating it over and over again. Sorry about that. This is NOT Beat Saber. While it is technically a music rhythm game, it's not like your actions / gameplay correspond to a beat. Yes, your drums do make sounds, but they have little to do with the in-game music playing. Other than it's heavy metal and you can play the drums fast and it'll generally still sound okay, although probably not on beat. Think of it like an amazing soundtrack that'll get you pumped up to play the drums. And you will be playing them fast. You have to bang them to go forward, turn, strafe, or shoot. You also tap your drumsticks to shoot fireballs. Just when you think it's getting pretty hectic, you'll have to bang them even faster ... pedal to the medal, ball to the wall metal fast. So yeah, it can get pretty challenging and while you wouldn't think you can get tired from playing air drums, this game will let you know that in fact you can get tired from playing air drums. I enjoyed it, but I'm also very tired. I'm out of shape so I get sweaty faster than normal I suppose. If you love heavy metal, then I do recommend this game for you. I think the normal price of $15 USD may be a little too much, but the sale price of just under $10 feels right for what you're getting here.
I enjoyed this game. The drumming controls are straightforward and intuitive; I didn't have any problems moving around the game or fighting enemies. The gameplay is super fun, and combat has a surprising amount of depth with just two modes of fire and two modes of movement. I highly recommend Drums of War for anyone who wants a fun, easy pickup and play VR game or a fun new party game to share with their friends.
I played this with my friend, I HAD to buy it! This game is really excellent! Great work Devs and THANK YOU!!! I cant stop playing Drums of War,, anybody that does not have this game in their Library, well I'm truly sorry for ya, your missing out on astounding graphics, awesome beats during intense unique combat, plus so much more that are in this vr experience, I'm actually gonna cut this review short so I can go back to playing it!
