The menu barely works, have to spam click until it registers. The drums don't feel synced to the music.

UI is lackluster and gives you no direction as to what you're supposed to be doing. Also, why would you put in an autoplay function? The game plays itself... What?
Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this app because Into The Rhythm VR does everything this app does, costs about the same and on top of that also allows you to put your own song into the app, make your own notes for it and then play it in VR. Drums Hero only allows you to play songs pre-selected by the developer and you have to pay for them too. Sorry but it's gonna be a negative, thumbs-down review for me until and unless the Drums Hero devs decide to implement similar features.
Derivitive trash, I regret purchasing this.
Good idea, terrible execution I really wanted to like this game but it's just not good for a few reasons. -You have to go through playing the song twice before unlocking the pro version, which didn't sound like such a bad idea at first, but once you get a hang of the controls, the "fun" mode of the songs is anything but fun, it's rather boring. -The notes are just not syncing with the music. Some songs are worst than other but most of the ones I played were off. -Since there's not really any feedback, it's rather common to double hit the drums without realising it. -Which leads me to the next issue, the notes you hit will count way before they reach the line, but if they pass it ever so slightly, it's a miss. So basically, there's "good" and "perfect" before the line, but nothing after, it's a miss. -UI is not clear, couldn't find an option menu in the main screen, pause during song doesn't seem to be assigned to any button on the controller, but is simply an in game button next to your drum kit and the way the notes are displayed is confusing...surely there was a better way than using controllers buttons for the labels. -Personal preference, but the songs are just not very good. There's still a good concept behind it and seeing this game was released 3 years ago, I don't expect it to improve. But I hope someone else will publish a similar game, just more polished.
Drums Hero is my favorite VR drum simulator so far. It's pretty fun, but it can be frustrating at times. You can move the drum kit, but not the individual drums which is annoying since I have a habit of accidentally hitting a wrong drum on the follow through which ruins my streak. There is also a bit of a delay sometimes with hitting certain drums, but I can usually figure it out and adjust for it- though I shouldn't have to. With more a bit polish this game could be awesome.
I really enjoy this game a lot. I've always wanted a VR drumming game because playing in the real world has always been way too much of an inconvenience to my circumstances, both in the space and noise department. There are many loosely tied together virtual reality drumming games, most of which are just simulators, with no backing tracks or assistance to help you learn to do anything besides just make a lot of banging. Drums Hero is the first game I've tried that gives me that Guitar Hero/Rockband feeling, it has nearly 30 tracks (when paired with the DLC), which is comparable to some much bigger games in the field. All the music included is mostly unknown songs from indie artists from multiple genres (from rock to dance), but they're pretty decent choices and none of the tracks come across as low quality or talentless, I even sought some of them out on Spotify. My main issue with the game is the very first track you are given to play, it would appear to be the theme tune to the actual game and it is just simply broken, every note is out of tune and impossible to keep in time with. Its a real downer and probably puts a lot of first-time players off from sticking with the game. It boggles my mind that their own song wasn't tested to the same level as the other tracks in the game because all of those are for the most part, perfectly in sync and a joy to play. I'll keep coming back to this game and will buy any DLC that is released to build my collection of tracks to play and I suggest that anyone who is interested to give it a shot, at least for the first 3-4 tracks as the first one is bound to leave a bad taste in your mouth.
I received my Oculus Rift today and I couldn't imagine a better game to ease me into the VR world. I found this game highly entertaining. I simply couldn't stop playing it. The game isn't perfect by any means (limited song selection for one) but the tunes are quite catchy with a good beat. If you're new to VR, you should really consider getting this title. 2 thumbs up for sure!!
If you like music games, consider Drums Hero. The drumming in VR works pretty well. I like the music selction, and it's also great that the dev is growing the songlist. One thing i could think of to make the game much better is having MIDI support for a kick drum pad or even just a direct pedal. Visually not too disturbing and off putting when trying to concentrate on the specific hits you need to make. If you like Rythm Games, this is a Must Have for VR!
