TLDR
Can't recommend at current state due to intolerable gameplay issue.
Pros

visuals
controller/drums response

Cons

small song selection (~15 or so?)
as song progresses, the visual track and score-keeping logic get progressively out of sync with the audio track
Issue Details - Visual Track Lag

this forces me to hit the drums AFTER I hear them being played in the audio track
I have to purposely hit everything late if I want to score well
it starts feeling too disorienting as it nears half a beat off(~1 min in?), and quickly feels completely unplayable after that
controller/drum responsiveness and audio remain fine, but feels/sounds really horrible being played late

Recommendation
I cannot recommend at current state. However, it looks like many have been lucky and not had issues like this, so maybe you'll be lucky too? Definitely hoping there will be improvements and additions to this game though, because it generally looks and feels great, and I could see me putting ridiculous amounts of hours in to this if that horrible visual track lag didn't happen.
This game is a 2 out of 5 stars! Let me explain... There are less than 20 songs When your playing a song, you would think that the only drums you hear are yours, but know they dont even cut out the audio for you to play and hear your own. You are just playing over the songs. When playing the songs you have a choice of 3 difficulties, they are fun mode, hard mode and pro mode. I am not even a drummer in real life and I would rather play the pro mode than the other two modes. The fun mode is more like the play 1 note slowly for the whole song. This game is so stupidly easy and is only fun to play in the pro mode. But to play in the pro mode you have to play in the other two modes to get to it. This makes the game way longer than it needs to be. What I liked about guitar hero is that it gave you the option to choose what mode to play in, this says no you have to earn your way. Imagine playing guitar hero or rock band and you want to play a song, but you have to play the whole dang song 2 times first on easy mode just to play it on hard. There are only 2 maps/drums There is a thing on the side for lyrics, but many of the songs dont actually show the lyrics so why even put that in the game. The only good thing about this game is that when you do get to play in pro mode it is fun... thats it, its not worth your time to play everysong 2 times to get pro mode. If there are like 17 songs and each song is like 3 minutes, then you have wasted around 2 hours cause sometimes it will say it wasnt even good enough and you have to play it again. The total amount of fun that you will have in this game is less than an hour, while like I said you will be wasting your time not having fun in this game for 2 hours.

It is actually pretty fun and I had a blast doing a hotseat with my roommates playing tracks. But the songs are pretty limited and theres only like two different skins for the drums and stage. On top of that, I haven't seen any serious updates to the game other than the launch of a paid DLC with more songs. Into the Rhythm VR is basically the same thing but better in every aspect.
Ummm, it doesn't feel like the controllers tracking and the game notes sync right at all... I've played a ton of GH and DDR...and the timing feels all wrong in this one to me. This is less relevant but the music choices were atrocious....the only good song was the first one (the theme), aside from that there was no real rock/metal, it was DnB and love songs and whatnot...totally the wrong feel for a drumming game. I was pretty open to trying new music out, but damn near all the choices (DLC included) were painful to listen to :\
This game or Drummer Talent VR? Answer: get both! They are both fun to play. I'm not sure if I could play a real drum kit after playing this game, but it sure feels like I can. Definitely got the beat/rhythm part down. The songs in this game are actually pretty cool. I was surprised by the quality, even if I hadn't heard of the songs before. The note map is very easy to read, so you know just what to play (unlike Drummer Talent VR). Although, sometimes it may be hard to "hear" what you're supposed to play because the song actually plays other drum parts that you're not currently playing (at least on fun/easy and normal mode). Also, it doesn't seem to matter how hard or sotfly you hit the drums, it will always sound the same (unlike Drummer Talent VR). Other than that, it's very reponsive and I didn't notice any missed notes due to tracking or delay. There's only two visual environments, and neither are that good (Drummer Talent clearly has this better). Rating: 8/10, fun to play, good songs
I have never wanted to be better at any game in my entire life! Drums Heros is not perfect but it is so good the world is a better place with this game in it! https://youtu.be/ElWY2T9Fh-Q = Good = - Audio is spot on - Each track is brilliant in its own way. - Easy - medium and hard levels are just about perfect. - This could teach you how to drum...it really, really could. - Graphics are great enough to make you feel `like I was there man`. = Bad = - The menu / UI is horrible. Manageable but bad. - Slight issue in-game (double hits; could be me as a beginner). - Some tracks crash VR completely. - I think on Vive you might be able to utilise your feet, Oculus not so much? - No adjustment, so important to be able to pull and scale the drums to your playspace. = Conclusion = Do not let any of those Bad points disway you, this is without doubt a fun, challenging and educational game that looks good and sounds even better. Just buy it, you will not be dissapointed.
I saw this game on the store and we interested, but after buying it i'm seriously regretting the choice. the music options are terrible. GH style games should have big selection of 70s-90s american rock. THAT"S A STAPLE for these games. hopefully the devs add some GOOD songs
Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this app because Into The Rhythm VR does everything this app does, costs about the same and on top of that also allows you to put your own song into the app, make your own notes for it and then play it in VR. Drums Hero only allows you to play songs pre-selected by the developer and you have to pay for them too. Sorry but it's gonna be a negative, thumbs-down review for me until and unless the Drums Hero devs decide to implement similar features.
UI is lackluster and gives you no direction as to what you're supposed to be doing. Also, why would you put in an autoplay function? The game plays itself... What?
