This game was amazing. 100% completed and enjoyed every minute of it. The story is like from a Lovecraft book. Getting all the DLCs is worth it too.

as someone who cannot play horror games for the life of him and someone terrified of the ocean i love this game so much. i bought it from the steam summer sale and started playing... all the hours i've played so far occured in the duration of two weeks (in which i got all the achievements and FULLY completed my encyclopedia). i highly suggest you get ALL the DLCs (you don't need the Blackstone Isle one later game, but it's fun to have the complete collection). the art is 10/10, the background music is 10/10, the interactions are 10/10, the gameplay is 10/10, and the terror is so perfect. if you're also someone who can't handle horror but still want to play, if you go into the guide area there's a guide for cowards (it outlines all the enemies and threats), it was so helpful to me because i was so scared to go to a new area, but it outlined what you'll find and ease your mind (i was so scared i'd sink my ship or something) please buy this game

Between zen fishing moments and chases from the nameless beneath the sea, the game readily switches between a nice easy going fishing game and dreading times of being the hunted. Lovely art direction makes for a striking visual treat with the game making the most of it's art style. Mechanics are simplistic and more of a test of rhythm and timing. Side stories/ quests you encounter are relatively easy with the more indepth simply being "get this fish" which is part mini game, RNG, and upgrade equipment. Overall, a great game and easy to run. Of the DLCs, I will say the oil rig one outshines the artic one. Whilst both add to the mythos and nicely adapt some lovecraftian horror tinge to the game, if you have to get one of the DLC it's certainly the Oil Rig. It gives the best side story and equipment for the rest of you main game. Worth full price and a steal on any discount.
