Dream Chamber

Une bonne surprise. Ce "point & click" est clairement sous-évalué par la communauté, la plupart des évaluations manquant de discernement. Le jeu est court et manque d'ambition mais je suis certain qu'il n'était que le premier chapitre d'un feuilleton qui n'a jamais vu le jour (manque de moyens, ventes trop faibles ?). De fait, le développement des suites a été abandonné et l'on reste un peu sur notre faim. Dream Chamber est un "point & click" traditionnel mais avec quelques éléments inhabituels rafraîchissants : une sorte de combat au tour par tour pas très profond qui, si l'on en sort vainqueur, nous permet de tirer les vers du nez de l'interlocuteur ; les "épisodes oniriques" où l'on contrôle le héros rêvant (littéralement) et qui permettent de trouver des indices inaccessibles normalement. L'Histoire se déroule en 1930 aux Etats-Unis. On incarne Charlie Chamber, une sorte de dandy qui se pique de devenir détective privé. On pense tout de suite à l'écrivain Raymond Chandler et à son héros Philip Marlowe. De très nombreuses références historiques nous ancrent dans le sujet (c'est l'épisode du voyage d'un point à un autre de la carte en compagnie de notre chauffeur et majordome, il est optionnel mais c'est plutôt bien trouvé) ainsi que des références (parfois maladroites ou superflues) aux jeux vidéo proprement dits (Day of the Tentacle...) Le style graphique n'est pas déplaisant (inspiré de la bande dessinée caricaturale), tous les personnages sont doublés par des comédiens de talent, la musique (du jazz) participe grandement à la mise en place d'une ambiance personnelle. Dans l'ensemble, le jeu n'est pas très complexe (énigmes basiques, progression linéaire évidente). Toutes ces remarques ne suffisent certes pas à le mettre au panthéon du genre mais on peut encore aujourd'hui passer un bon moment en sa compagnie.

Recommended for a dollar or two, overall I enjoyed it, it's not a spectacular game but it's not awful either. Pros: Good voice acting, Controls are mostly fine. Music is not bad, nothing too repetitive or annoying. Crisp visuals. Solid story and good characters - unlike many point'n'click adventures. Dream idea is nice but underutilised, I would have liked it to point out when I missed things. I did like the castle & speech persuasion mini-game. Cons: No achievements or trading cards. ...See other reviews! But I didn't regret playing it to the end. No sequel, this feels a bit like a first in a series. I think this game deserves a better score.

Although Dream Chamber is visually polished and has a decent atmospheric soundtrack, I cannot reccomend this game as a "point and click" fan due to the clunky gameplay. It is never obvious what you are clicking on due to the the cursor not reacting to what you hover over. The dialog trees consist of a mini-game which you cannot exit from, even when you know you have got an answer wrong, forcing you to sit through the whole thing (potentially) multiple times. It is also slow moving from location to location due to a scene where you are in the car with your driver everytime you change location. Sometimes you will know how to solve a puzzle, but will not be allowed to until you have had a certain conversation first, which is frustrating. This game also crashed on me after alt-tabbing out and back in, and due to the lack of autosave I had to replay a good half-hour of the game (which is about half of the overall game length). This is not worth the full asking price, and although the story was intriguing, there doesn't appear to be a sequel to wrap of the narrative of this game.

I love point & click games, but there is no game here. In 30 min play time I clicked maybe 10 times, everything else is just dialogue and animations, none of them interesting enough.

This Point & click game is very good from interrogation to puzzles bit short but cliffhanger ending is good. Only thing missing is hint system.

Yes, it costs almost nothing on sale, but its still a paid demo version of the game that doesn't exist. There are a lot of text and objects to interact with. And almost 2 endings (cause they are not very different) but no. There is no point to start something you won't be able to finish

[h1]Shocking pnc adventure, give this one a miss[/h1] As a lover of point and click adventures I try all of them on Steam when I can. This one is quite poorly designed, pretty dull and includes bad voice acting which I can't stand on pnc games, and a really bad user interface. Luckily this was very cheap but I am still going to refund it due to the fact of it being so poor. My Score - 2/10
