Its pretty cool. the dev works on it constantly.
A cool Idea, but Gameplay missing depth. I didnt even bother with 3/4 of the units because they are not worth it. procedural Map is almost always a good idea. Just pointless if you get bored before reaching the last 1/3 of the Game. The Story is pretty pointless as well (just demands you to do the first river again, when your completely op and if your unlucky and miss a story based dungeon, you just do the whole thing again.) I think i will play this again casually, but without troop updates e.g. there is barely a point to keep playing. The Maps/Biomes and dungeons look really cool. Some sort of dungeons you might skip after 1-2 times, because its too tedious to clear and not really rewarding.
feels like an alpha. water looks great but the controls are awful
I enjoyed leasurely maneuvering my raft along the river through a pretty landscape with nice looking towns where you can trade for goods and get new crew members. You need to go on land to forage for crafting supplies and explore ancient ruins. There are enemies on the river and on land, but fighting is done mostly automatically and isn't overly hard, though things get increasingly tough the futher down the river you travel. The challenge right now is to find and craft good enough gear for your crew to be able to survive. Also you need to upgrade the raft so it holds more crew, and that is very expensive. Game controls are easy to learn. Developers are very responsive to the community and bugs get fixed within a day of reporting them. I'm looking forward to further development of the game as indicated by the road map. There will be more of a story and more challenges eventually.
Like I spend about 30 hours in that game. Concept is awesome. Realization is not. At all. Can't see it done even in 2 years. Really clanky interface, just look for experienced UI/UX designer, you definately don't know how to handle it by yourself. Ask yourself simple questions - how I as Player can use that feature? Don't invent bicycles, like your camera control. Oh yea, I stopped playing because game erases my 30 hr save. Cloud save wasn't there as well. Good luck
The most dreadful thing to me was how inaccessible it is and how out of touch and non-working the tutorial is. The anchor popup never vanished lol. As much as I love the Elder Scrolls mod these guys did, this just isn't it. I also runs worse than the RE4 Remake for me which is...amazing, in its own sense. I will come back to this in a year or two and see what changed as I love the idea.
This is really not good. Sure AI's track record is not proving very fruitful. They made one of the best mods ive ever played with Enderal. But it just goes to show, They were good at making a good mod for a bethesda game. And not their own.
Not sure what it is that I like so much about this game and I do not mean that in a negative way at ll. I have played allot and I mean ALLOT of survival clones and factory games as of the past 10 years. This just scratches an itch I just did not realize I had till I started playing the demo one day bored on a whim. I love the way this looks and the way you control raft as well as the damn near free looking camera controls. I like the way you build crew and how they feel so alive at times. The food/health system is fair and balanced and rather fun to use, reminds me of something I played from many moons ago. As this game is EA you will find some bugs the one with the skills menu and crew customizing are annoying but can be worked around. I remain confident they will be patched out eventually as the dev seems to update this rather often.
