About
No AI or Generative model have been used in the making of this game.
This is a passion project made by a solo developer.
VR is available but optional.
Explore, analyze and discover, in this space adventure with multiple endings.
Quantum Void is a retrofuturistic cosmic thriller, revolving around space and dimensional mysteries. This game offers two different phases: exploration by foot and space navigation. Choose where you go, figure out what happened and try to get the best outcome possible.

You embody an engineer working for CSMO, a faceless space corporation. Two months into the expedition, during a routine maintenance operation, the fleet encounters a dimensional anomaly.
You and your small vessel get separated from the fleet and are thrown in the outer layers of an unknown stellar system. After wandering a bit, you start picking up faint residual signals in the area. Is it the rest of the fleet?
Find your way across the orbits, explore the abandoned ships, uncover the mystery behind the anomaly, and try to escape...

Pilot your welding-tugship across the orbits
Find the fleet wreckages board them and explore them
Use your radio and computer to retrieve and make sense of the things you find
During on-foot phases, explore and take advantage of every system of the vessels (Electrical grid, computer network, air vents, crew emails and chats, ...) to get to your objectives
Non linear, explore the environments thoroughly, each detail can have its importance. The game world is semi-open in a Metroidvania fashion
Multiple endings
Playable in flatscreen and VR
Optimized for SteamDeck (or any other handheld PC)
Bhaptics support

A surprising 'JACKPOT!!!' in the annual Summer Steam Sale flood of games. Friends, I've played a lot of games in the last two weeks-- most for less than 15 minutes, which is how long my inner critic takes to start yelling 'this SUUUUUUUUUCKS!' My inner critic was dead silent for the last 45 minutes. Atmospheric. Intriguing. Speaks to the player diagetically, with great care taken in that communication. And it's fun. Old fashioned shooting space spiders in confined spaces-fun. This is the best $/fun value I received in this Summer Sale period. I am frankly shocked that there hasn't been more hoopla in the gaming press about this one. Did I mention it had zero (no) technical issues in about an hour of gameplay? A competing AAAA game just CTD on me this morning. This game shows an astonishing level of polish. Oh, and there's voice acting. Competent, if not showy, voice acting. In a game who's entire budget was probably less than what Ubisoft paid for 'Tavern Texture Set #45-#46' A round of applause. I can't wait to have another lunch break soon where I can sneak some play in with this game.
I am a 52 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing Quantum Void. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son found this game at Christmas, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. Loaded into the game world and started playing but I was stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he helped me. Loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories. Thank you <3
before you ask why i already sent in a review, i was a tester of the game, i completed it 100% over on the VR Meta Quest version of the game, so thats why im already here. (I HAVENT COMPLETED THE GAME ON PC YET.) do you like space? adventure? the 80s? Lovecraftian entities that are just waiting to flip your perspective of the world completely upside down? maybe your also a fan of some alien lifeforms? well then, if thats what you seek, its absolutely present in Quantum Void. a great non linear game with mesmerizing visuals both in VR and flatscreen. all in all an amazing game worth experiencing. made by one single dev, without any AI. now if that isnt worth buying the game for, idk what is. 9/10. go buy it. like, right now. im not asking. im forcing.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & initial impressions here: https://youtu.be/4rwKHZIJJWE This game is so good that I bought twice. Even though I already bought the game on the Meta, I decided that to buy it again on the Steam store. To be fair, the game is already budget priced. The gameplay is simple. The visuals are simple. Yet it's the attention to detail that will keep you engaged in this space thriller adventure game. While I don't think this game is for everyone as the combat is probably the weakest point of the game, everything else is wonderful. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 5090, I was getting mostly 90 fps. I did experience an area where I was getting FPS in the 50s though. You have full locomotion, along with smooth turning available. You can play comfortably seated. Game just needs more graphical settings TBH. Rate 8/10. Early impressions on PCVR, but it's great seeing the difference between Early Access (Meta Store version) and now the finished product, you can see all the improvements. Looking forward to finishing this one!
I bought this game! Lovely game, highly recommend it!
Verdict
Buy it! Right now! No matter the price!
Preface
I have no idea how or when I added this game to my wishlist, but so glad that I did. This is a work of art, and absolute passion project through-and-through and it shows. Bravo TacNours, you've made something truly special, unique, innovative, and amazing.
Review
Visuals: A+, my only critique is of the UI in some places. (Overlay only, the diegetic stuff is stellar) The button prompts, and captions/subtitles for NPC speech look a little bit low resolution, in comparison to the general crispness of the game's artstyle. But overall masterfully done. Sound Design: Phenomenal[\b]. An incredibly immersive auditory experience. No notes. Music: Flawless. Beautiful accompaniment to the story and gameplay. Gameplay: Fun! 8/10 Story: 9/10 Controls (Walking): Perfectly serviceable[\b], but not built to the same standard as the rest of the game. I played with a controller (as Steam recommended upon launch) and found the sensitivity controls not sufficiently able to turn down, and interactions generally felt a bit 'clunky' for lack of a better word. That said, I don't think it really detracts from the experience. Controls (Spaceship): Perfect, intuitive, elegant. Polish: Overall quite good, the first thing that jumped out to me as "looking unfinished" was the ladder climbing animation. A very minor thing. Second was the keyboard, I understand matching fingers to keys must seem like a lot of work for little reward, but it stood out right away that they didn't link up. Maybe because of how much work was put into the keyboard itself? It looks great, sounds great, and the keypresses are well done, so the "missing link" stands out.
One of the most impressive exploration games that I have ever played, more so due to two factors; the atmosphere is nailed down incredibly well, and due to its indie nature (one developer!!!) The story is captivating, and narratively speaking, very intriguing. Not extremely heavy on combat, so do not go into this game expecting something like that, it's more of a slow-burn. Overall, it's fantastic!
Everyone scours Steam for hidden gems... This is a hidden masterpiece. I cannot wait for the internet to find this.
I'm only a few hours in but feel compelled to already leave a glowing review. I'm playing it in VR on the Index and it feels very good to play. Getting around the environments is straightforward and rewarding, as the self-proclaimed "retro-futuristic" aesthetic is very on point. Hums and whirs of the computer terminals couple lovely with the clickity clack keyboards as you go through their menus. The VR implementation is like many of my favorites. It's not overly simmy, as in, if you let go of your multi-tool device, it won't fall to the ground. It will just go back into your inventory. However, don't expect a lot interacting with objects in the environment. It's not a physics playground like some games, but that doesn't detract from the game to me. Controlling your ship can either be done via motion controls, like you're holding the flight sticks, or via joysticks on your controllers. My preferred way to play is standing while on foot in game, and sitting in my office chair while flying, and resting the controllers on the arms of my chair, to anchor them. If you like space games or classic sci-fi or investigating mysteries, you'll likely enjoy this game.
Played in VR on a Quest 3
Positives
- Gameplay is enjoyable. The ship parts are fun to explore and interacting with the tool, consoles and ship controls is very satisfying. - Intriguing story. Usually I don't really care for story, but this one has me interested from the start. I won't spoil anything here. - Graphics look fantastic and performance has been excellent for me. - Intuitive ship controls. I was flying around smoothly in seconds because the game allows you to use your controller joystick instead of forcing you to use some clunky in-game flight stick.
Negatives
- None.
Conclusion
It feels like a true passion project and at this price, it's absolutely worth buying.
