We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
Very fun. Dragon Quest games always have such charm to them. Some of the battles get pretty rough later, but there are plenty of options to overcome challenges. The class system that allows you to "rebirth" a character and keep half your stats leads to some fun builds. I had a priest turn warrior for a makeshift paladin and he probably ended up being my main damage while also having a fair bit of utility and healing.
Despite the minor changes that social activists managed to get into the game, it was still a very enjoyable game. I played the original as a kid on the NES (Dragon Warrior 3) and enjoyed this remake. Definitely play this before the 1&2 remake as the story takes place before the original 2 games. New to Dragon Quest or someone who played the original nearly 40 years ago, this game was fun and enjoyable with a great story.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

awesome game postgame sucks mini medals arent worth it awesomem game
As a long-time fan of JRPGs, this was actually my very first Dragon Quest game. I can't compare it to previous versions, but I can see why this game is so beloved. The story is by-the-numbers, but being motivated to find your father and save the world kept it engaging enough, especially towards the end of the game. I played on "Dragon Quest" difficulty and found the difficulty to be very balanced. Some bosses took me a few tries, but it was fun to learn their attacks and strategies to eventually best them. My team setup likely made them harder, but I stuck to my guns and persevered. I also love the freedom of using whatever classes you like, the battle system, the exploration, graphics, sprite-work, and quirky writing. My only complaints are the lack of a dedicated music track for most bosses, no battle animations for party members during battles (despite creating animated idle sprites whilst selecting commands!), questionable postgame challenges, and some iffy voice acting. Otherwise, this is an exceptional game and I can't wait to play the I and II remakes now.
