14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Played and finished it as Dragon Warrior on the NES decades ago - one of my fav JRPGs that burned a whole lot of after school and weekend hours.
INCREDIBLE!!!
Doesn't get more classic JRPG than this, but 'classic' does not mean masterpiece nor perfect. I never played the original so no nostalgia effect, which I think helps me write an honest review. Dragon quest games definitely aren't famous for their deep/ intricate stories, and this being a remake of one of the first entries is even a step lower, with basically the main (but still not bad per se) plot being that you, the silent protagonist and chosen one, must defeat the great evil threatening the world with your, again silent, party of companions. Nothing fancy but again not bad. Gameplay is your standard turn-based battles with dungeon crawling and cities/overworld map exploration, with tons of secret spots and a good chunk of one/two liners of dialogue per NPC you talk to, outside of quest related ones, obviously. Difficulty can be adjusted, but my main gripe is that on standard difficulty everything gets pretty easy pretty fast and combat feels like a chore that made you wish you had a full on 'auto' button, and then there's just a little spike towards the end. Post game, though, is the complete opposite: even lowering the difficulty does not save you from some atrocious sweeps, and even with that, the amount of grinding needed (be it for levels, skills, or equipment) is a lot and also not exactly easy, as the best way to farm exp is chance-based. Artistically speaking, the HD-2D is wonderful, not as good as, for example, Octopath Traveler 2's, but almost there. OST is perfect and helps setting the mood in each map/section pretty well. If you also want all achievements, I STRONGLY recommend using a guide (I did, in fact) otherwise you'd be looking at 10/15 hours minimum of random explorations of maps you've already done, and the encounter rate in this game is pretty high. I would still recommend this to anyone wanting to try some 'good old classic' turn based JRPG and/or something to play while your brain is completely turned off, but definitely not at full price. If you're interested in dragon quest as a whole, I'd honestly start somewhere else, like 11 or 8 (still haven't tried the newly released 7 remaster) I liked it enough to make me want to at least try out the I&II remaster too, being a sequel of this, but applying the same logic of having to wait for a good discount. Still happy that more and more games like this one are getting the HD2D remaster treatment, which is definitely a good thing in my book.
多了很多元素,勇者斗恶龙玩家必入!
Brilliant remake of a great game. Not much more to say. I love this whole series. Hopefully they'll do Dragon Quest IV soon. That game was incredible.
