Drag the Dead

Mindless action game in which you mow down hordes of undead. Sadly, issues ruin what could've been innocent fun. The hero of the game is a drag queen Zane who wears a cape and is dressed like a superhero. The entire package is very straightforward. You get a machine gun with endless ammo, four special skills that recharge quickly, and a city full of zombies that must be eliminated. There are four stages that must be completed. You are stuck in a city location where each stage plays out exactly the same manner, despite tiny changes in location. The objective is to eliminate every last zombie. Large tentacles prevent you from moving further because the levels are large and it’s very easy to overlook a zombie. Tentacles only vanish after the area's zombie population has been wiped off. Your weapon's only drawback is how frequently it needs to reload, but I can accept this design choice. Since there is no manual reload and you cannot tell how many bullets you have, this occurs automatically. Although the small range of the weapon is odd, I can see why it wouldn't be fair to be able to snipe zombies from a distance. Special skills don't exactly make you feel badass. You have a grenade launcher, shotgun blast, machinegun burst, and a time bomb that briefly slow down the action. All are useless and weak. Grenade launcher, which should damage within an area, only hits one enemy and only when you point directly at it. But it has no problem killing you. Brainless enemies are only dangerous if they surround you. If you keep shooting and going backward, their swipes will always miss. Your health also recharges after a while. However, there is one aggravating issue that occurs far too frequently for my liking and kills a lot of fun: enemies sometimes become invincible and refuse to die until you kill it with a special ability or reload. You’re constantly wasting special abilities just to kill the most basic enemy that’s already been filled with an entire clip. This is a huge problem because there are no checkpoints. You only get one life to finish the entire stage. Overall darkness is another issue. It becomes annoying when ranged enemy start showing up. It’s so dark that you don’t know where the attack is coming from. One part with the dark park where you're looking for the last zombie is a chore. There’s a brightness setting in the options, but it doesn’t work. There are also no optimization or graphics options. Game struggles and the boss fight is unplayable because of this; the game goes from one stutter into another. Also, you need to replay the entire fourth stage if you want to fight the boss. This is not fun. Some achievements are broken, like the one for killing 250 zombies. The game also forces you to finish the game three times on three difficulties. Again, the game is mindless fun, but issues prevent it from reaching the fun part.

Highly recommend! Easy straight to the point 3rd person shooter.. You have everything you need off the bat with no weird strings attached. The little messages on the walls and advertisements are a neat and funny addition.. Not a ton of time has to be invested which is cool. Just beware of blowing yourself up from time to time (not that I have done that multiple times or anything....)

Although it says I have only played 0.2 hours, I have played many hours of this game. I received this game for free; and if you're looking for something quick and to the point, and are tired of clutching your pearls then I would recommend this game. This game features a drag queen mowing down hordes of NPZees that come in all shapes and sizes in a dystopian modern world. As the player it is up to you to keep mowing them down and fight back against the mind-virus. I found this game perfect for me as the setting is something I'm interested in and considering how busy life gets, I was able to hop in and get right down to it.

this is a great and innovative game with a lot of easter eggs concerning today's world throughout the landscape

Love the level design and overall story. We can use more quick play games like this on the market.
