Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2022

Wolverine Studios just knows how to make a great basketball management game. I've played every iteration of both Pro Basketball and College Basketball for the past couple years, and every year I'll dump hundreds of hours into the game with ease. So far, this version of Pro Basketball is my absolute favorite. There is nothing else out there like it, even BasketballGM. People will get caught up in the star ratings, but players play insanely realistic to how they do in real life. This isn't 2k where clearly bad teams somehow luck into 50+ wins, and you can just cheese the system with trades. Trading is insanely difficult to do, and you can't just cap dump a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ contract for a 2nd rounder like you can in 2k. You actually have to give value, and even then a team can just tell you they aren't interested in taking on his contract unless you massively overpay. ---------------------------------------------------- Westbrook is a 5 star player in this game. I thought that was insane, especially when guys like Donovan Mitchell are 3.5 stars. But it somehow evens out. Donovan Mitchell will average about 25 a game just like he does in real life, and Westbrook will post a triple double but go 8/25. He'll have his nights of prime Westbrook, and then he'll have an utter ♥♥♥♥♥ game where his shot is off and he'll post a realistic Westbrook loss stat line. Ignore the player star ratings if you play. They throw everything off and make people think it's unrealistic. Valuable role players are 1.5 stars sometimes. Stars are sometimes 3.5 stars. Just cause someone like Westbrook is a 5 star while Donovan Mitchell is a 3.5 star means literally nothing without looking at their stats and player tendencies. They also have historic rosters and draft classes going all the way back to the 70s. You could play as your favorite team in the 70s and draft Bird. See wtf would happen if Len Bias lived. What if Magic didn't get aids? What if Cleveland didn't get the #1 pick in 2003? You can totally recreate and mess around with history. --------------------------------- Also, Wolverine Studios offers a 7 day free demo on their website. You can play up to the All-Star break for the 2021 season (can't access historic seasons in the demo sadly).

Last year's version was the first DDS game I had played. As a life long Football Manager player, I had been looking for something similar basketball wise. Last year's version was good and I'm pleased that this year's has made some great additions, such as revamping the scouting and adding the personality models. The game is well-polished, I haven't experienced any issues with crashes and the core experience of running an NBA team is as good as ever. For those who have played DDS Pro Basketball previously, this is a good improvement. And for those who haven't played before, but are looking for something similar to Football Manager, this is it.

Played the 2019 version of this game years ago and hated it, after playing this year I can say it is a night and day difference, I am impressed with the improvements and keen to see what is next

Well made and fun to play, not as customizable as OOTP or Football Manager, but would still highly recommend! Also the developer is very responsive on the forums which comes in handy if you have questions or suggestions.

Bir basketbol fanatiği ve oyun sever olarak uzun zamandır FM serisi gibi bir basketbol menajerlik oyunu arayışım vardı. Çok fazla FM geçmişim yok hatta FM serisinden oynadığım sadece 2 oyun var. FM 2020 ve 2022… Özellikle FM 2020 beni sardı diyebilirim. E şimdi madem FM manyağı değilsin ne demeye basketbol için menajerlik oyunu arıyosun denilebilir. Aslında FM 2020 bunun önünü açtı diyebilirim. Normalde metin tabanlı oyunlara çok yükselmem. Hatta hatırladığım kadarıyla CM oyununu ilk gördüğümde FIFA gibi bir oyun sanıp oyunu deneyimleyince “Bu ne ya hani nerde oyuncular aq?!” demişliğim bile var. Ama tabi o zamanlar 10-11 yaşlarında olduğum için bu bir nevi normal. Yaş alınca biraz daha istatistikmiş, yönetimmiş vs. biraz daha ilgi çekici olabiliyor. 0’li yaşlara gelince ilgi alanı biraz daha yetişkin usulü strateji tarafına kayınca dedim ki “Ulan çok fazla takip etmediğim futbol menajerlik oyunu bile beni ihya ettiyse basketbol neden etmesin?” Çünkü çocukluğumdan ötürü basketbol futboldan önce gelirdi benim için. Bu sebeple hazır bu metin tabanlı oyuna ısınmışken basketbolla biraz daha ısınayım dedim. Ama şöyle bir şey var ki lan böyle bir oyun serisi varmış. Benim haberim yokmuş! Ahanda bu oyun zaten seri şeklinde devam ediyormuş. Neyse geç olsun güç olmasın ben de girdim bu seriye. Beklentim var mıydı? E tabi. Neticede FM gibi detaylı bir şey beklemesem de beklentim yüksekti. Ha karşıladı mı beklentilerimi? Karşıladı lan. Valla bak. Tabi ki eksiklikleri yok mu? Var. Ama yine de kilitledi beni karşısına. En büyük olumlu yanı kuşkusuz basketbol sever birini oldukça mutlu edebilecek bir oyun olması denilebilir. Hele bir de benim gibi NBA takip eden için mükemmel bir şey bu. Ama burada ufak bir olumsuzluk var ki çok da olumsuz denilemez aslında. Oyun NBA lisanslı değil. Yani oyundaki takım ve oyuncu isimleri orijinal değil çakma. Lebron James değil de Lebron Cames gibi. Ama bunun çözümü yok mu? Var. Normalde Steam içinde çoğu oyunda olan Atölye kısmında aranabilecek modlar yardımıyla çözülebiliyor. Ama bu oyun için böyle bir bölüm yok. Bu sebeple oyunun forum sitesinde bu sorun halledilebiliyor. Bir diğer buna benzer durum ise görsellikle alakalı. Ben şahsen oyun içindeki oyuncu ve logo görsellerinin güncel olmasını isteyen biriyim. FM için de geçerli bu durum. Yine aynı şekilde internetteki forum sitelerinden çözülebiliyor bu durum. Biraz teferruatlı ama değer. İşte indirmek için üyelik açmak ve 2 orijinal post göndermek gerek vs. Oyunun bir diğer olumlu yanı FM kadar detaylı olmaması. FM severler için mikro management oldukça keyifli geliyor olabilir ama ben sıkılıyorum o kadar detayda. Yok işte antrenman ayarla yok yönetim ekibini güncelle. Her oyuncuya şu şekil talimat ver. Bir süre sonra bayıyor. Bu oyunda da var ama daha yüzeysel ve basit. Ha bazı noktaları biraz fazla basit. Mesela antrenman olayı aşırı yüzeysel ama NBA bilenler için antrenman çok da önemli değil. Sezonda 82 maç var her maç antrenman aslında. Bu yüzden bu durum kabul edilebilir ama set oyunu için bir bölüm olabilirmiş sanki. NBA’de takas mevzusunun önemini bilen bilir. Takımı sezon içerisinde ve sezon dışında şekillendirmenin en önemli yoludur takas. NBA üzerinde şekillenen oyunlar için en önemli nokta ise takasların adil ya da mantıklı olması. NBA 2K serisinde takas yapmak biraz zor. Oyuna göre mantıklı olanı bulmak gerekiyor ki ben o kadar saat 2K oynadım Trade Finder olmadan takas yapamadım. Üzerine çok düşünmek gerekiyor ve bana göre sıkıcı. Yok Salary Cap yok Rating vs. Bu oyunda ise ne çok zor ne çok kolay. En azından takas teklifleri kabul edilebiliyor. Ya da saçma tekliflere mantıklı cevaplar verilebiliyor. Bu da takas konusu için bana göre sıkıcı değil. Maç motoru ilk başta beni fazla memnun etmedi. FM oynarken 3D maç motorunda oynuyodum ki bana daha güzel geliyor. Bu oyundaki her ne kadar 2D olsa da kolay alışabilir bir özellik. Neticede daha basit ve akıcı. 3D olup akıcılığı olmayan veya mantıksız saçma olmasından iyidir. Çünkü basketbol futboldan daha akıcı ve hızlı. 3D yapmak biraz görselliği etkileyebilirdi. O yüzden 2D olması iyi olmuş. Maç motoruyla alakalı olsa iyi olur dediğim şeylerin başında FM’de olduğu gibi oyuncularla etkileşimde olabilmek ki bunu basketbol için çok daha kolay yapabilirsin aslında. Mola diye bir şey var. Aldığın molalarla direkt oyuncuyla yakın etkileşimde bulunabilirsin. Bu oyunda ise sadece oyuncu değiştirmek veya kısa süreli set çizebiliyosun ki bu da molaları sadece oyun sonlarında almaya itiyor gibi görülebiliyor. Son 3 saniye kalmış 2 sayı geridesin ve mola alıp hemen bir set çizip skora gidebiliyosun. Bu iyi bir özellik ama alınan molalarda veya çeyrek ve devre aralarında oyuncularla yakın etkileşim iyi olabilirdi. Özet olarak bu oyun basketbol ve NBA sever için oldukça keyifli ama FM gibi futbol takip etmeyen birini bile içine alabilecek bir oyun değil. Dolayısıyla hitap ettiği kesim biraz daha dar. Ama basketbol ve NBA sevenler için ise saatler gömülebilecek bir oyun. Achievement de ekleseler tadından yenmez valla.

W game

It's buggy, it's eating resources despite being a very basic database driven application. It requires you to install a bunch of mods/downloads that you can basically only get by joining their forum. So all red flags that should make you hate this game. And yet... I can't stop playing it. It is by no means perfect, truth be told - if you get frustrated easily, avoid this like the plague. If, like me, you remember the days of having to manually change settings on a DOS prompt to make a game at least start up, than you might cope with this. And even then it is not ideal. The trade rules are not implemented correctly, contract renewal rules are not correct, the gameplay graphics are horrendously bad and finishing a match takes too long. But then you get that one Small Forward in the draft who's actually a diamond and turns the fortunes of your water treading franchise around and you go: ONE MORE TURN.
