Terrain has a massive impact on battles. Fortunately, you can change it freely with your magic! Just beware... your foes can do the same!
Actions speak louder than words. There's no dialogue trees of options for you here... how your characters interact depends on how you fight. Your decisions (and your skill) will determine your party's fate—in more ways than one!
When the new king sent princess Sahana to the far-flung hinterlands of the kingdom via a "political marriage," she didn't expect a warm welcome. And that's great, because she didn't get one.
Her reluctant husband, Kadi, treats her well but mostly avoids her. Vexingly, he does not seem to be avoiding a beautiful mercenary named Celestora—who says she wants Kadi dead, but spends all her time with him anyway. Hana's "exile" isn't the worst, but she has had about enough of this little situation...
Join this band of misfits as they venture to quell the monsters that trouble the province...
Radix Chronicle is brought to you by the 2 person studio, Luna Flora. Ray handles the code, and Marcus handles the other stuff!

So this was a surprise for me, it popped up in my recommended feed, I love the classic SNES JRPG aesthetic, and that alone was enough of a reason to give it a go. Then I spent 2 or so hours on the first boss encounter, trying out every single little thing to solve the secret mission parameter... and that's when I realized, I am addicted. I was really enjoying the process of figuring it out, trying different gear, different abilities, trying to figure out how to manipulate the boss to do what I want... If the first boss encounter already feels this deep, I am really looking forward to seeing what's in store later on.
Apparently Steam doesn't count KickStarter reviews, so I bought it again on alt account to give it +1. Ignore my playtime. Game is amazing. Easy 20+h of fun.
The game has an incredible amount of creative strength. The landscapes, weather effects, enemy designs, attacks, and everything relating to characters (movements, expressions, quirks) - they're all oozing with charm. That's not to mention the SFX and music - soo catchy. I bought the soundtrack cause the songs have been stuck in my head for ages, and remind me of classic SNES games. The game feels like a SNES gem, but with modern accessibility and game speed - not super slow like some tactical games. Gameplay is fun: the timing elements are satisfying, and changing the landscape is cool. The item descriptions are fun and quirky. The story also has surprising depth and gravitas. Doesn't beat around the bush, gets straight to things, but there's a lot to it seemingly, with deeper dynamics and insights to ponder. Tactical games are my least favorite genre, but I had a blast with this. It's hard though. I got stuck on the
'Don't use Hellflame'
stage, and am taking a break from the game. But I'll come back to it. All in all, the attention to detail, the spirit, the thought and love put behind things, make this feel like a tactical fantasy classic. It gives me that Final Fantasy, or Secret of Mana kind of feeling - the type of fantasy charm that very few games have. Delightful.
Grid-based strategy game that teases the brain. Reminds me a lot of Into the Breach. Great replayability, great challenge, catchy soundtrack and a lot of silly moments. Keeps you challenged while rewarding good use of the game's mechanics. I'm having a blast
At the credits after about 20 hours in the game and I still wanna experiment more and that's mainly due to the unexpected depth of this indie tacticute. As a total newcomer to this genre, I would definitely recommend this to players who are either unfamiliar or seasoned. (The ring trials will humble you either way) A lovely helpful community needs to be mentioned too. Give it a shot, you will almost assuredly not regret it!
its a perfect pick up and play game, smash out a quick chapter over lunch or something. There is so much secret depth to the game, with how you can combo terrain and spells things like that. I cant wait to put more time into the game and discover all the music and spells
A really compelling tactical RPG. Some fights will feel unfair or impossible at first, but there's always something you can do to change up your strategy and approach from another angle. Expects you to read the manual and use all the tools at your disposal, but is very rewarding once you get the hang of it.
This game is very fun. The sprite work, music, tactics, writing are all so great. I can see myself replaying this over and over trying to find the optimal way to tackle every stage.
I'm writing this just after watching the credits of my first playthrough. I have to say: This was really cool! Never played something similar before, so it took me quite a while to settle into the game mechanics. And even after getting acquainted, every following battle would be a different challenge and fun to figure out. This game is crafted with obvious care and love in every aspect: gameplay, visuals, music, dialogue, you name it! Truly a unique experience.
TL;DR: This is a very nice game. You should try it, and I think you will probably like it. Even if you don’t normally like tactics-like games, I think people should try this. Not perfect, but it’s fun. This is a cute turn-based tactics-style rpg with plenty of customization through an engaging, nostalgic, and very pretty aesthetic. The game is fun. The presentation and story are fun. There’s a wonderful simplicity to the combat and character management that makes battles flow in an interesting way. At the same time, it’s complicated enough to make you think a little bit. And I think you probably do have to think a bit more to fully enjoy everything there is under the surface, but also if you don’t want try to hard, you probably will have a great time just chilling to go through and not spending too much effort. The customization and planning are good. You earn items and equip your party strategically. It goes along with fun characters and a nice story. You choose actions in combat based on your character’s strengths and equipped abilities. And then you also take neat environmental effects into consideration every level as you work through possible consequences of actions. And of course you learn more about enemy moves that change your decisions, loadout, and decisions. ALL THESE THINGS TOGETHER ARE GREAT. Fun progression and game length is good so that it doesn’t drag on. I think most people would easily enjoy this game, even if only for 5-10 hours. Maybe 20+ hours for people who really get into it and want to go deep, but I didn’t go that deep. It’s a shame the trailer does a poor job showcasing the part that makes the game so fun: the customization and tactics! In my opinion, the trailer puts too much emphasis on the timing element of the combat, but this really felt like a minor part of the gameplay to me. The better parts come from the excellent flexibility for approaching puzzle-like combat. The timing-based execution is just a little extra something you do as you go through the battles. I didn’t worry about the timing part much. Sure it adds a bit to risk-reward of combat choices, but it wasn’t a bit deal for me. Tactics games like this are not for everyone. Some people don’t like turn-based combat or strategy. I don’t particularly like turn-based combat or strategy games, but I liked this. I still think most people would still have a good time with it. Even if you don’t usually like this type of game, you probably will at least not dislike this game…aaand there’s a high chance you will find yourself liking it much more that you thought you would with this type of game. It’s a fun game that is easy to get in to. Cons: This is an indie game with a small dev budget, and it shows. It is rough around the edges in terms of overall polish, including UI design, visual readability for text, visual customization, etc. I play on PC with a big screen, but the game looks like it was made for lower res displays or mobile. This should not be a dealbreaker, but on a normal computer screen, the real display area of the game is in a weird vertical aspect ratio with padding on the sides. The super cute pixel art is so tiny with this weird aspect ratio. And yea I get that you don’t need more horizontal space for the current game design because there’s more vertical layout to the levels, but also the overall game design didn’t have to be that way to prioritize the vertical layout! Overall the game seems better suited for mobile gaming and could have been done better for PC setups. The price is also high for what the game is, default price is 20 USD right now (March 2026). Still, it’s reasonable for what the game is, and it’s not terrible considering the indie dev situation. Not a complaint against the game itself, but it would be much easier to make a stronger recommendation if this were half the price. Other pros: Fun gameplay, goofy characters, catchy retro vibe, easy to get into it. Pretty pixel art. Fun story. Simple but fun music that matches the vibe. Overall it’s an easy recommend for most people. I think more people should play this game.
