Genre
Ein Beat Em Up
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
This is just plain stupid fun. $25 bucks though? No way. Totally worth a discount price or Bundle grab.
A solid beat’em up game that continues the adventures of Asterix & Obelix. For those who played the first game, the second chapter introduces multiple improvements: - Game environment feels more alive and dynamic due to improved visual style as well as non-enemy NPCs being part of background scene. - Character’s energy is no longer needed to perform heavy attacks, run through enemies, or grab and spin foes. This gives you more freedom in how you can play the game and simply introduces more fun. - Instead, you can use energy to boost your character’s speed or perform special attack during which character becomes invincible and does everything for you - definitely a lifesaver when you have low health. - Even though you’ll meet exactly the same enemies from the first game, they learned a few new moves which adds more uniqueness to each of them – be prepared! Plus, there are two types of regular enemies that were not present in the first game. - Game no longer feels repetitive as previous one (but it is slightly shorter) In my opinion, this game is definitely a step forward from previous part and I like it more than the first one. 8/10
6/10 its got nothing on the 3d platforming games, most of them not nearly as good as Asterix & Obelix XXL 1 and 2 better than 3 tho boss fights that are have janky hitboxes on attacks, are invincible most of the time, and hit like a truck would be fine with most of that but the attacks that DIDNT HIT ME!!! if when you lost at the boss fight who was at the end of the level you dont get sent all the way back to the start of the level
yeah i dont understand what the hell is wrong with this game, i played it the graphics and controls were nice and then the crashes started, when i was switching to obelix and using his x move the game would just simply crash, that happend 3 times. i tried some fixes but none of them worked, yeah hopefully they will fix this issue.
Fun little beat’em up, but it quickly becomes repetitive. It’s only 4 hours long, but you probably won’t play more than 30 mins at a time given its repetitiveness. Big wins are supporting 2 players on the same computer and having voice over in many languages.
Asterix & Obelix Slap Them All! 2 is a colorful, boisterous beat ’em up that embraces the spirit of the classic French comic books with an enthusiasm that is hard to ignore. Developed by Mr. Nutz Studio and published by Microids, the game continues the hand-drawn, comic-authentic visual style of its predecessor while attempting to expand the scale and variety of its brawling adventure. From the opening frames, it’s clear that the developers once again prioritized capturing the charm of Goscinny and Uderzo’s world—every character animation, background painting, and punishing slap feels like it was lifted directly from the pages of the comic. This visual fidelity is not just surface-level polish; it creates a sense of stepping straight into an Asterix cartoon, and for fans of the series, that alone is a genuine delight. The gameplay follows the traditional beat ’em up formula: moving from left to right, clearing waves of Roman soldiers, pirates, brigands, and an assortment of foes who all seem determined to stand between the Gauls and their objectives. You can choose to play as Asterix, who is quick and nimble, or Obelix, who moves more slowly but delivers massive blows. Local co-op remains one of the game’s biggest strengths—playing as the iconic duo side by side brings a lively, chaotic energy to the combat, echoing the camaraderie that defines the heroes’ relationship in the comics. Movement is smooth, the animations are packed with charm, and simply watching Romans go flying through the air after a well-timed slap often feels like a reward in itself. The adventure spans a range of environments, from familiar Gallic forests to urban Roman settings, coastal villages, and underground lairs. Each level carries its own visual identity, and some stages introduce mild exploration elements, giving the game more depth than a pure corridor brawler. Boss encounters bring additional flavor, with exaggerated personalities and attack patterns that fit the humor and tone of the franchise. Collectibles, branching pathways, and small optional objectives add a layer of replay value, even if they don’t dramatically alter the core experience. However, the game’s greatest weaknesses stem from repetition and limited mechanical depth. While the slap-heavy combat is satisfying in short bursts, the move sets are small, enemy types repeat often, and the encounters begin to blur together as the hours pass. Even with the attempt at variety across stages, the gameplay loop rarely evolves beyond defeating large groups of similar enemies using the same handful of combos. This repetition becomes especially apparent during longer play sessions, where the charm of the animations struggles to mask the formulaic structure underneath. Difficulty balancing also fluctuates. Some stages feel breezy and approachable, while others suddenly spike with overwhelming enemy counts or projectiles that require precision the controls don’t always perfectly support. The knife-throwing enemies in particular break the otherwise casual rhythm of the game, introducing frustration in a title that generally aims for broad accessibility. The gap between Asterix and Obelix’s fighting styles also isn’t as wide as it appears at first glance. Despite their different animations and attributes, they share similar move structures, limiting the sense of experimentation or strategic switching between characters. In terms of content, the campaign is moderately sized, offering a handful of hours of fun but not a great deal of long-term depth. While the game makes a good effort to keep things fresh with environmental storytelling and sharp visuals, it doesn’t introduce the kind of deeper progression systems, unlockable moves, or elaborate combos that modern beat ’em ups sometimes incorporate. The absence of online co-op also marginally restricts replayability, as the game’s strengths are most apparent when shared with another player. Still, the presentation carries a lot of weight. The hand-drawn art is gorgeous, the animations are expressive, and the comedic tone is true to the original comics. Everything about the visual identity feels handcrafted with affection, from the detailed backgrounds to the exaggerated reactions of Roman soldiers sent flying off-screen. The soundtrack stays lively, leaning into energetic tunes that match the slapstick nature of the gameplay. For longtime fans of Asterix & Obelix, these elements will feel like a loving tribute, and younger players or newcomers will likely enjoy the cheerful, cartoonish style even without nostalgia. Asterix & Obelix Slap Them All! 2 ultimately succeeds as a fun, visually stunning beat ’em up that knows exactly who it’s for. It excels at providing lighthearted brawling and cooperative entertainment wrapped in a lovingly crafted comic-book world. Its shortcomings—namely repetitive combat and shallow mechanical depth—keep it from standing alongside the genre’s more sophisticated entries, but it doesn’t really aim for that spot. Instead, it thrives as a spirited, humorous romp best enjoyed casually or with a friend in tow. If you appreciate traditional beat ’em ups, adore the Asterix universe, or simply want a charming game filled with personality, this sequel delivers an enjoyable trip through Gaulish chaos. It may not reinvent the genre, but it offers a heartfelt and entertaining homage to two of Europe’s most beloved cartoon heroes. Rating: 7/10
