Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

utterly airtight in every sense of the word
Downwell is honestly a flawless game. It knows exactly what it wants to be, does exactly what it’s meant to do, and absolutely nails it. The gameplay is incredibly simple: you basically do three things, move left, move right, and jump/fall while blasting enemies with your gunboots. That’s it. But somehow, those simple mechanics come together to create one of the most addictive games I’ve ever played. It’s a perfect example of how a game doesn’t need complicated controls or endless features to be a masterpiece. I bought Downwell on both PC and iPhone. My PC playtime is pretty short, but I have over 100 hours on my iPhone because it’s the game I open whenever I have a little bit of free time. Five minutes here, ten minutes there, it’s perfect for short sessions, but it always makes you want to have “just one more run.” The controls, movement, shooting, level design, sound, and overall simplicity work together beautifully. There’s almost nothing I would change. It’s minimalism done right and genuinely feels like a masterful piece of game design. I highly recommend Downwell to every gamer. If you want something simple, relaxing, challenging, ridiculously fun, and dangerously addictive, get it. Whether you have five minutes or an hour to kill, Downwell is always a great game to jump into. 10/10
It do go down
Fun game, but I don't find it that good.

Downwell is probably one of the most tightly designed games I’ve ever played. Combat and traversal are one and the same, and the game is in constant motion meaning that you are constantly engaged with said mechanics. It’s difficult to play the game and not enter a flow state, gravity pulling you further and further into the run where enemies are more and more plentiful. Downwell’s 3 color pallet may seem basic, but it makes understanding what is happening easy. A necessity if you want to play fast for a good score. The music is an appropriately chunky, oppressive soundtrack, fitting your descent into a strange and hostile underground. Downwell understands that a single idea, polished to a mirror shine, can be sufficient to draw a person in and keep them in. Its difficulty will keep you engaged for a while and while a single successful run can take around 20min, unlockables will keep you coming back even after you manage to reach that elusive bottom.
