Reviews
Downwell is a phenomenal little roguelike, with blazing fast skill-based gameplay, simple graphics, many color palettes, and a lot of charm, it captivates with its intricate mechanics. The gameplay mechanics are incredible, with a lot of perks and weapons. Besides a few weapons/perks being clearly more powerful than others, it's well balanced enough to provide a compelling experience. Also, the soundtrack is amazing, how it starts to play at the exact moment you touch your boots on the ground is an awesome touch. Uroboros has been living rent-free in my head for a few years already. (Mobile version, that I never managed to finish hehe) Time for a 100 sugoi combo! TOO POOR!
This simple game has captivated me for many hours over the decade I've been indulging in it. I really can say it's one of the best arcade games of all time and I do plan on building a cabinet for this title in the future.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Basically a perfect video game, and honestly, to be honest, if I'm gonna be honest: it's probably the best game about falling down a well really fast.
This game was really easy to learn, but man was it hard to master. I would be dying over and over due to my own mistakes, but I didn't give up until I reached the bottom of the well. The various unlockable also helped with beating this game as well. The music was something, but I decided to mute it to make me focus more. Overall, a very fine game that'll keep you on your toes in traversing the well.
I really really like this game, I play it when I'm in between doing important stuff or if I'm chilling with my friends in discord and I'm feeling fidgety. Please try it!!
Fun and hard, which is the point. It's also cheap :) Give it a shot!
A short and difficult arcade game where you jump down a dangerous well equipped only with a pair of Gunboots. It has a very simple control scheme, but the complementary mechanics and the unique levels you’ll be falling through make for a fun and frenetic gameplay loop, where you’ll be honing the skills necessary to reach the bottom while discovering the dangers that lie below. This can be seen by how Downwell naturally teaches you a vital, yet hard to master, mechanic at a point where you’ll be skilled enough to execute it. Once learnt, it recontextualizes the whole game, giving the earlier levels you’ve already mastered a new exciting challenge. Furthermore, its hard mode significantly changes the levels in such interesting ways that it will make your subsequent runs feel like new. All presented with an incredibly charming art style and a masterful sound design that not only brings life to these levels with catchy music but also makes every source of feedback super satisfying. I highly recommend Downwell as one of the most brilliantly designed video games ever made, as long as you’re looking for a challenging arcade game.
amazing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. its so smooth. 3 dollars for 30 hours gameplay well worth it
clean gameplay and nothing superfluous. My compliments! I especially want to mention the talent in writing sound design!
Very charming little game, I enjoy playing it when my laptop can't run much because of battery restrictions. It's good for both quick fun and a dedicated sit down. Not a whole lot of story from what I can gather, so it's something you can just turn your brain off and get good at!
