DOOM (2016) is one of those games I'll never get tired of recommending. Even after playing DOOM Eternal, which expands on almost every mechanic, there's just something about this game that hits differently. I can't fully explain it, but it has a special place in my heart. The combat is fast, brutal, and unbelievably satisfying. Every encounter pushes you to stay aggressive, keep moving, and rip through demons without ever slowing down. It perfectly captures what DOOM is supposed to feel like, and it never loses that momentum from beginning to end. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible, the atmosphere is heavy and intense, and every level makes you feel like an unstoppable force. The simplicity of its gameplay compared to Eternal is actually something I really appreciate. It feels more straightforward while still being deep enough to stay engaging the whole time. DOOM Eternal might be the bigger and more complex game, but DOOM (2016) is the one I'll always come back to. It's one of my favorite shooters ever made, and I honestly think every FPS fan should experience it at least once.
