this game suck balls sometimes but its also the greatest game ever. there's nothing quite like it

It's got a very messy UI. This often means that you need multiple clicks to get anywhere and the game can be impenatrable without outside sources such as youtube videos or other explanations. Having said that, there is a lot of potential fun here. If it weren't such a god awful experience to interact with the thing it could actually be my all-time go to game.

Makes Total War look like Subway Surfers I'll need over 50 hours to feel confident playing multiplayer against anyone with 1 faction out of the 80 some factions the game has, I've lost or would have lost to normal difficulty ai 9/10 times so far. a brilliant game for people who want to spend every waking moment thinking about it, there is so much complexity and so many spells and stats and unit abilities to remember, as well as faction abilities and faction spells, you will spend hours reading the wiki searching for answers,, if you want a game to engross yourself in with true depth and thinking required, then I would highly recommend this, got it on sale for $15 as I wasn't sure if I would like it, definitely worth it if you want a total war styled game with true depth and substance edit: do not join any of the discords to discuss this game or share your opinion on a build that you think is cool if you aren't part of the "ingroup" of mentally ill losers on there, you will never hear the end of it, you will be called a troll for suggesting that your build might be good the community is extremely mentally ill and redditized, I made a joke about the writing for a nation of nordic giants being betrayed by gyjas, the hags of the nation, which does actually happen in the game as being possibly inspired by nietzche , suddenly a bunch of butthurt mentally ill clowns jumped down my throat as if I spit in their drink or something, wasn't banned for this also, if you accidently reply to someone who says in their username not to reply ping them, then call them a special snowflake and no one else publicly shames people for accidentally pinging them you will get banned and have 10 of their friends shame you for accidentally pinging them ok so you join the reddit dominions server, hang out talk about the game, seems chill right, wrong, a clown from the previous discord will spot you, call you a troll and a misogynist for making a comment about the writing of the factions on a previous discord, completely derailing any conversation, then the other buttbuddies will come in and say you should probably be banned if you said something that offended their sensibilities on another discord it's actually your fault if you want to defend your opinion on your ideas about the game, or if you don't conform to the extremely narrow worldview of discord and reddit minded people great game, but extremely mentally ill people on the channels so don't expect to be able to speak your mind about anything in any way, even about the game the funniest part is when I was talkiing about the build I thought was good and had utility, stygian skin bless on yomi faction, everyone dogpiled on me saying that the ethereal form doesn't matter all my ideas were terrible etc, then they called in the resident expert on the discord on yomi I guess, necromage, and he basically agreed with me that the ethereal form is an asset for yomi and not a liability, while literally like over 5 people were nonstop saying that the ethereal form doesnt matter it's useless that I was wrong because I didn't play enough multiplayer etc so basically I was banned from the reddit dominions server for making a joke about the writing of the game that I wasn't banned for on the previous discord, and that I had an opinion that the extremely isolated and mentally ill people there couldn't mentally comprehend about a build within the game and I wouldn't back down immediately and say I was wrong I have over 100 hours of offline play

tons of fun once you learn the mechanics

A lot of effort and knowledge has been poured into this hidden gem. The dev is clearly passionate about old mythologies and religions and has that deep ball knowledge that people themselves from the culture don't know about. There are a ton of factions with infinite methods for strategy and composition. The downside is that you genuinely need to STUDY the game before you play, due to the sheer amount of things to learn. The real Con that I need to mention is that multiplayer is almost non-existent. You need to join discords and send emails to end your turn and what-not. It is really not worth the hassle. The next iteration in the series, Dom 6, is much more expensive but it is basically the same game.
