i dont have the patience to write down all what i feel about this game, but you can feel the love shine through this game, District steel feels like the most sincere loveletter to boomershooters i have ever played and i have played many of thoose, the level design is nothing short of amazing. There were many places that must have to have been directly ported from concept art to the game and it simply looks breathtaking. I would 100% recommend this game to anyone who likes boomershooters and i will be following the devs since the level design alone is a testament for great things to come. but that does not mean its perfect, there was a thing that bothered me, mainly the lack of hand animations, i really dont like the way you grab things, its fine to have floaty grabs for bodies but at the very least reloading, i understand that fluidity is very important but no hand animations is simply way more bothersome. Also the game sadly feels like it never really gets into the stride it is building up to and thats not because the game is short, but i feel like it was made too casual friendly which hurts it in the long run. Again i do 100% recommend this game, i cant imagine anyone really not liking it tbh
Amazing VR game. Bullet time is very fun. Played on Quest 2 and 3.
Guys... your game is a hidden gem. Promote it more — it deserves to be known by everyone!
Kinda like F.E.A.R
how to play 1: get gun 2: shoot roboot 3: run out of ammo 4: panic and rush towards rooboots while swinging your pistol at them 5: knock all roboottes out 6: repeat
Pretty fun. This is a recommendation, "but"... :-) If you know VR shooters and are looking for something new with a cool look and a decently long and fun single player campaign, District Steel can deliver. If this is your first VR game or you are looking for emotional arcs, brilliant character acting and AAA graphics, you should probably keep looking somewhere else. I think what you are getting for the price is pretty good. I bought this game ages ago and never really played it. It has however gotten quite a few updates recently, so I decided to jump in. The mechanics are pretty fun and polished enough. It still has some weird choices (not sure if the ammo magazines are supposed to float ABOVE my hand when I grab them), and the enemy AI is not the most amazing and organized I have seen. The game doesn't hold your hand, I actually didn't figure out for a while how to switch handgun weapons even though I have played a ton of VR games. And I ran out of ammo partly because of that, which rarely happens to me (though you can still keep going by punching enemies). But if you are okay with that, I can absolutely recommend buying the game. Even in its Early Access state, it provides quite a bit of content and options, the shooting mechanics are good, and the rocket boosting and slow motion are just an absolute blast to play around with. I think if I had read some of the reviews praising the game as absolutely amazing and the best thing since sliced bread, I might have been disappointed. It's good and fun and a recommendation for sure. But keep your expectations in check.
This is a very slept on vr title. the game is solid and good, it is NOT jank. i felt in a time of joy while playing this title. it deserves support from the vr community as it hasnt been very noticed and the devs have some trouble having time to continue the project due to having to work regular jobs to pay bills. it has forced a really great game to sit on the sidelines a bit too much during development. development continues, albeit slow due to those reasons but ,you will find a very enjoyable experience you will want a lot more of. and so. support it. one gripe i had and its just because development was early and is on pause sort of for a brief moment, was lack of being able to map some button binds. other than that.. it wowed me. Word is the update is getting closer to completion and i am ready for that.
Excelente!
