About
Distortion thrusts you into the heart of Cortex Central, a sprawling Cyberpunk megacity controlled by the shadowy FA Corporation. Using neural implants embedded at birth, FA Corp manipulates the population’s perception of reality, erasing individuality and free will. Their sinister "Thought Program" dictates every major decision—careers, politics, finances—turning life into a meticulously engineered illusion.
As whispers of rebellion grow, your mission is clear: uncover the secrets of FA Corporation, awaken key allies, and dismantle their central data servers hidden within their heavily fortified headquarters. But the journey is perilous, with distortions warping reality and making truth hard to find.
Explore the immersive world of Cortex Central, from neon-lit streets and dark alleyways to bustling metro stations, nightclubs, and rooftops. Take control of high-tech weapons, ranging from precision pistols to automatic rifles, and engage in high-octane action sequences.
Built from the ground up for VR, Distortion delivers a full-length campaign, endless gameplay modes, and a rich, complex story. Experience an exclusive soundtrack by Leon Switch as you navigate this distorted reality. Will you rise against the system and reclaim freedom, or fall victim to their control? The choice—and the fight—are yours.

Pros: The graphics and art style are ok. Can't speak to the story as I didn't want to keep playing. It's a $20 game that feels like a $20 game, it might entertain some people for a bit. Cons: There is no options screen in-game. The options in the starting area are VERY limited. The smooth turn rate isn't adjustable and is painfully slow. The grip angle on the pistol is wrong, and again, not adjustable. Loading your mag takes a lot of movement, causing the touch controllers to bump into each other and drop the mag - you have to slide one past the other or roll your wrist. The slide on the pistol locked open on an empty mag only about half the time, between the issues loading it and the abysmal turn rate it made combat frustrating. There is no indication of your health (that I could see), you'd think this would mean regenerating health like Contractor$ or MW or something, then you turn a corner and get hit one more time after a lull and die. Overall the whole package just lacks polish, the two levels I played lack variety, the combat wasn't fun and the game lacked really basic quality-of-life features that are expected of VR games at this stage.
Bisher keine Empfehlung. 👀Cyberpunk und Neonlicht🎊 auf meiner Kurator Seite. I was looking forward to playing a nice little shooter without zombies, but once again I got half-baked garbage. The idea behind the game is nice and the menu, intro etc. look like a lot of love, the music is great that has to be said. But the control is under all Kanone. With index controllers not playable without own bindings. You constantly lose the gun or it's back in the holster if you're lucky. Reloading is a matter of luck and the angle of the gun doesn't seem to match the knuckles. The character's speed is very slow. The AI of the enemies is non-existent. The speed of the moving assets, like flying cars, is really enormous though. The vehicles race through the city sky almost at the speed of light. Some lights flash like in Strobbowahn, maybe that's how it's supposed to be. The graphics are really okay, but unfortunately there is almost no physics or any interaction with the environment. When we do find a frying pan that we can pick up, it slides right through the world. This game is far from finished. No recommendation so far. 👀Cyberpunk and Neon Light🎊 on my curator page. Yeah, this just doesn't work at this price. Almost no meaningful options, absurdly inconsistent reloading and no thought at all for left-handed players. Repetitive, clunky and just not fun.
Refunded, which is not something I ever do. I respect and am sympathetic to the challenges of small dev team and/or modest budget. Action was repetitive - main strategy seemed to be shooting them around a corner while they couldn't hit me - but the environments really looked so great I was alright overlooking that and playing along at first. After several levels I got to the streets, where the instructions say to find a person with a green dot. I couldn't find the person. I tried interacting with every person in the street, none responded to anything, unless there's someone I didn't find at all. Using Quest controllers for PC VR I couldn't figure out how to open the menu in game (despite seeing menu on the side of left hand watch, ignored attempts to press, hold, or orient it in ways other games do), so I had no way to quit properly or save. When I next tried to open the game to give it another shot I found the progress hadn't been saved, there was no way to continue from where I left off, meaning= I'd have to replay those same levels again before trying to get unstuck from the street level. At that point I concluded this wasn't yet in a shape ready to be charging for, or perhaps not if the only controllers available are Quest used for PC VR?
=============================== I recommend it, BUT ... READ CAREFULLY: It's not Cyberpunk 2077 in VR, it doesn't have an intense story to follow, the shooting is frenetic and arcade, the enemies are as stupid as sandpaper, the physics are bad, the mechanics of the weapons are cumbersome, although they are not realistic, it has a nice graphics and the setting is beautiful. Don't buy it with too high expectations, it's just an arcade shooter where you go ahead and dozens of enemies run against you as if there was no tomorrow, getting shot and beaten without seeking shelter and without thinking at all about their safety. Why do I suggest it? Because despite being bad, I couldn't stop playing when I realized it was a bad game. It's like watching a car accident - you know it's bad to watch but you can't help but watch. Nice game, if you play it knowing all this and if you are looking for a game with a fast shooting, hordes of stupid enemies to kill easily, if you have little time and do not want a challenging experience and if you want to experience the thrill of being inside an environment inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 or Blade Runner. VOTE 10 for the setting and immersion, VOTE 3 for everything else.
Despite a chaotic beginning (too many bugs, unrecorded progression) the game is now stable and the progression in the game becomes interesting. The gameplay remains basic, the AI is sometimes static, beta and other times in full rush. Some levels are aesthetic and others not. But for less than 20€ the title remains pleasant even if it presents a repetitive approach.
Simple good fun shooter with amazing graphics. takes you away into another world
This game is a VR Cyberpunk "gorgeous" experience! I highly recommend this title, and you should just buy it. The gameplay was awesome, the environments are top notch. I didn't want to stop playing!
What from the trailers, screenshots and description seems like an engaging shooter-adventure in immersive environments is just a corridor shooter with almost no variety and zero interactivity in low-poly badly-lit neon environments, and lots and lots of bugs. Look at half an hour of my gameplay here and see that I get to a point where the pistol and pistol ammo aren't moving anymore, they are jumping around in a weird pattern. I could not reload my gun, so I threw myself in the front of an enemy, only to respawn and watch the gun start bugging again: https://youtu.be/ZAu8l_dQq9Y Besides that, the last update of the game was in 2022 and then it was completely abandoned. Don't be deceived by the screenshots, and frankly even some gameplay can make you believe there is some merit -- because you don't see what it lacks. You just have to cheese enemies on corners and that's it.
I have seen alpha state games that had more polish. Weapons just randomly drop from your hand and reloading is ridiculously bad. Enemies are completely wooden with AIs that just stand there shooting at you or run towards you. This game was unplayably bad.
