Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials

Playing these trials can be genuinely fun unless you're trying to go for the achievements and i wholeheartedly believe the Arkane team were siting there laughing evilly together as they added the time management achievement (Literal evil incarnate)

Sorry guys, but this dlc along with the achievements are extremely hard to complete. I still did 100% the game, though

Dunwall s h i t t y trials. I can not recommend this, which is a shame since it's more Dishonored. And I love Dishonored. But I hate these stupid challenges. And I hated them even more when I went for all achievements. Seriously, some of them are pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. In back alley brawl, there's an achievement for killing all combatants personally. That is a problem because the challenge spawns enemies of different factions, meaning they will attack and try to kill each other. So you better pray to god or whatever else you hold holy that you will make it to the tallboy before it incinerates the weeper(you won't). The other challanges are just as obnoxious, and are more often luck based than skill based. Bonfires is a mobility challenge, where you collect red beacons for as long as you can. The achievement tied to bonfires requires you to make certain "tricky jumps" within the same session. You are not told anywhere what these "tricky jumps" are, so you will be forced to look them up. And once you do look them up, you will think " how the hell are you supposed to figure this out?". With all that said, they aren't all that bad unless you are going for the achievements. In which case they are that bad. The incentive to complete these challenges and get a high score is an artbook, which is fun to look at for a couple seconds, but the juice is not worth the squeeze. And don't even bother looking at the leaderboards, all the top entries have impossibly high scores(because they've cheated). TLDR; buy this if you are going bald and want to expedite the process

i actually like most of the challenges in this. the achievements suck tho. if you just play this following the principle of only continuing to play if youre having fun and ignore the existence of the achievements youll be fine. god i hate the assassins in bonfire expert

This DLC is great if you don't care about the achievements. The DLC itself is basically a collection of challenge minigames. Almost all of them are gimmicky, the achievements are even more so. So, to simply understand the game's mechanics is not enough. You'll have to learn the mechanics of each challenge independently, and each might take hours to find. My personal favorite is the one involves drop assassination (shown as the first screenshot in the store page). My least favorite is the one that you must touch red beacons within a short time (shown as the fourth).

this is just a punishment for those who want all achievements lmao.

I would have payed MORE for just an artbook, than whatever excuse for a challenge-mode this is. I cannot remember when I last played DLC which made me TRULY think less of a studio for releasing it.

i dunno y they made this
