Dinoblade

If you are looking at these reviews, Dinoblade is exactly what you expect it is. It is developed by one guy. It is rough around the edges. Certain attacks have little to no warning or nonsensical hitboxes. Sometimes it can be unclear if you can block or parry something or not which can make certain bosses frustrating. The game was not horribly hard and I was able to beat it without any appreciable grind. Critiques aside, I expected a few hour dinosaur soulslike, and I got one. Lots of the animations and sound effects could use work to make the hype moments more hype (Such as the ending button mash), but all in all you can tell what the dev is going for and its very charming. Is it the best soulslike I've played? Not even close. Was it a fun time? Did I get a lot of silly laughs? Absolutely. If you're tight on money, There are better places to spend it. If you think Dinoblade sounds neat and you hope to see more like it in the future, why not throw the team a couple bucks for a pretty fun experience? Tip: I am pretty sure all of the red (unblockable) attacks can be parried generally. There are some which cannot be. Unfortunately you will have to figure out which are which through trial and error.

As a dinosaur fan and this being my second or third souls-like games I've ever played i enjoy that there is not much of a story where if i die over and over to the same boss, it doesn't ruin the flow of the game/story. As far as gameplay goes i have no complaints since i don't play souls-like games regularly. I know this game is made by a studio literally called Team Spino, and as the Spino is my favorite dinosaur of all time i would like to see in the future being able to play as other dinos (especially the Carnotaurus), even if the other dinos are attached to summons and perks.

Janky walk animation, typical UE5 visuals, but god is it sick to swing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ giant ass blade as a dinosaur. 10/10

So, i'm no soulslike expert (only played Another's Crab Treasure), but after two hours i can say, this game is absolutely cracked. Incredible concept, challenging bosses, powerful soundtrack, just straight up distilled essence of awesome. Every time I unlocked a new power, I audibly said "Hell yeah". While the locations (and game itself actually) where definitely made with heart and soul, the level design is simple, and keyboard controls are a tiny bit unresponsive, but that's nothing you can't get over. All in all, solid 8/10, Very Cool!
