Played the campaign several months back and found it very fun...until I got to a level that I literally cannot pass without extremely specific RNG luck. Or, as I found out later, it requires playing the roguelike mode and gaining permanent power-ups through that first. Which is counter-intuitive. And now the game currently cannot be played at all. I continuously get "Unable to retrieve user data" when trying to play which has apparently been happening to everyone for months now. There's apparently a workaround, but if the devs are not going to bother supporting their game I'm not going to either. Do not get this game until the devs return.
Requires online connection for a singleplayer game. Can't play without a connection.
Broken right now, and it seems devs have gone away. Do not get!
THIS GAME CAN BE PLAYED. The devs fixed the issue preventing people from starting the game and it 100% works now. With that being said, this is a really fun game that deserved more attention. The art is awesome. The characters are great. The gameplay is a lot of fun, and it's really fun trying different character combinations when going through the roguelike mode called Endless Raid. It has a really cool story that is, at times, very challenging and RNG-dependent, but fun overall. If you want to play a fun roguelike with interesting characters, this is still a really great game even if the devs aren't working on it anymore. The game is 100% complete and nothing is missing, so when you buy it you are getting the full 1.0 release with a ton of characters to unlock. It's a shame the game didn't get more attention so we got more characters added, but there's still a lot here to do and experience and I would give it a shot.
wow this was really cool! but now you can't even boot it up and it seems to have been abandoned. a real real shame. I may update my review if this somehow gets fixed, but even then this is pretty crazy.
Game was fun for the few hours I played it, but then the game started not being able to log in and I couldn't play. Checking the official Discord, looks like this is a known bug and requires you to delete your save file. A maxed out save file is available for players to use, but I just wanted to play the campaign. Seems the dev has been shut down, so unlikely this bug will ever be fixed, so I can't recommend buying this game regardless of the quality of the gameplay.
Game no longer works. Cannot load user data. Their website is down also.
Can't recommend this game at its regular price, but it's worth 75% off, especially considering the bugs that will never get fixed
Same as multiple users have written already. The Game starts then you Press PLAY in the game to start it properly, it Says retrieving user steam data and shortly after the error message that it fails and please try again later appears. This happens ALL THE TIME since the latest Update. So you can not start the game again, and the devs abandoned the game and do not react
Really good effort from the devs for branching out!! Had fun, and I got my money's worth, but it pains me that I can't recommend without some asterisks. Plays like a $10-$15 mobile game. Needs a LOT more polish (performance, sound, some UI stuff, etc.). Character design and worldbuilding are good. Gameplay is standard. Performance, sound design, UI, and everything else needs help. It's clear this comes from a game studio that is more familiar with making mobile games. If this was sold on mobile for $7, it'd be an easy recommend. But on pc which has a higher standard for games for $20? Unfortunately not. Rough edges: the shop button is always present, but only clickable when outside of any other contextual menus. buying a discounted item from the shop doesn't discount how much you can sell it for some sounds, like the victory sound, sound cheap why do characters attacks jump below the screen when an enemy is attacking? I'm sure there's more... If you know you're going to like playing a game like this, go for it. If you're unsure, something like Slay the Spire and Inscryption are much higher recommends.
