I do not recommend this game, because of its many bugs. If by any chance you absolutely love the ocean and think that there are not enough underwater games on steam than I would recommend the prior version of the game that you can play by changing the steam setting of the game to the beta build of the game, because it has almost no bugs. I won't lie i had some fun exploring the deep in the old version of the game. If you plan on playing the Resubmerged (updated) version of the game, be prepared: I have encountered countless bugs, from missing crewmembers, missing inventory, missing storage, enemies not spawning, glitching through the world, enemies not doing anything, settings and key binding resetting each session, ... just to name a few.
We need add Chinese in language option!!!
I came back to this game with full intent of completing finally, seeing that they had a patch last year gave me some high hopes. I started a new game and things were going well aside from there still being a ton of bugs I was still having fun up until I made it to the second area. I was ok with slogging through the bugs but I literally cant progress any further now. Two of your crew members just leave the sub one of which (the gunner) for no aparent reason. I managed to at least find the gunner girl but the quests have stopped updating and the gold fish stopped spawning to show me which direction to go. Im really disheartened as I love the idea of this game, I didnt even really mind the wonky controls . I honestly would struggle through the bugs and even recommend this game but I sadly cant because I just simply cant even progress any further.
Diluvion: Resubmerged is an older game from 2017. It's a venerable 8 years old at the time of this review. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. The concept is okay... you're on a Jules Verne-esque submarine and you need to play a little FTL like crew management and steer your submarine around (awkwardly, more on that later), do some fights, upgrade, progress through narrative... if the game was implemented well, this could have been a real smash hit. The game was not implemented well. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers. The controls are particularly obtuse and unintuitive... trying to play the game is generally unpleasant because the submarine just doesn't move nicely... it's awkward and frustrating. The developer added two different control modes to try make the game more accessible... but both of those modes are equally awkward and don't follow established gaming control conventions. Maybe if they wanted the game to be more accessible they could have just, you know, played successful games first and done the same thing as games that made a lot of money by being fun to play. From my experience with the game, it's somewhat bug riddled and has design/implementation/stability problems that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game is riddled with a number of unfixed bugs (and the developer stopped maintaining this years ago), which tend to crop up towards the end of the game and render the game impossible to complete. It's clear insufficient testing was done on this Nintendo Switch game. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? Diluvion: Resubmerged has the laughable, eye-watering price of $15 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $15 asking price for this game could get you games like "Dead Cells", "Valheim" or "Divinity: Original Sin 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
some parts are so broken they just stop working and you cant progress. great dev support
Beautiful game, washed before I played it but man I need to play it more but I don't got the time damn it!!!!!
I have to recommend Diluvion in spite of all of its limitations and bugs. It is such an IMMERSIVE experience that one should SUBMERGE into its world at least once in life. The world is neatly constructed, the models are great, the lore is great, the dialogue is great, the gameplay is great, the submarine customization is finger-licking, the turn-based boarding action combat simulation is amusing, the base building is fun. This game is made by people who truly love videogames and will give you many many hours of engrossed 'devir'.
