Embark on the epic campaign solo or with friends, meeting memorable characters through a gripping story in a beautifully dark world, or explore an expansive end game: battle iconic bosses for powerful loot, fight back the encroaching onslaught of Hell in Helltides, master the Forge to create your ultimate weapons and progress powerful characters, with cross-play and cross-progression on all available platforms.

Discover the critically acclaimed franchise that defined the Action RPG genre. As the battle between the High Heavens and Burning Hells rages on, hatred devours Sanctuary as evil spreads and a new wave of cultists and worshippers arise to embrace Lilith’s coming. Only a brave few dare to face this threat and bring light to the all-consuming darkness.

Join your fellow adventurers, rescue and retake besieged towns, delve into nightmarish dungeons and uncover lost secrets as you fight back evil. The many zones of Sanctuary are yours to explore, and with rotating areas of extreme peril like World Bosses and Helltide, danger lurks at every turn.

Recommended | Perspective: 50 years of game design, one very tired mouse hand I've been designing games since 1974. Tabletop, play-by-mail, mods, commercial titles. I have shipped things I'm proud of and things I still apologize for at parties. So when I tell you Diablo IV is a genuinely excellent piece of craftsmanship, understand that I say this as someone who knows exactly how many people cried to make that combat feel this good. And it does feel good. The moment-to-moment loop is butter. Every class has real identity, the kind you can feel in your wrist before you can articulate it in words. The art direction is gorgeous in that "medieval oil painting left out in the rain" way that this franchise was born for. It runs beautifully on hardware ranging from "NASA surplus" to "my nephew's potato." As a developer, I can tell you that kind of scaling is not luck. That's a technical team quietly performing miracles while the internet argues about horse armor. Which brings me to the negative reviews. I read a lot of them, because reading player feedback is an occupational disease. Some criticisms are fair. Live-balance whiplash mid-season is a real sin, and I'd dock points for it too. But friends. FRIENDS. Some of you left a thumbs-down because a free weekend capped you at level 20. That's like leaving a one-star review on a bakery because the free sample wasn't the whole cake. My personal favorite genre is the "1,400 hours played, Not Recommended" review. Fourteen. Hundred. Hours. I've had marriages of shorter duration receive kinder exit interviews. If a game holds your attention for the equivalent of thirty-five full work weeks, the review writes itself, and it is not the one you wrote. Also spotted: a thumbs-down because a cosmetic horse skin costs too much. It's a hat for a horse. The horse does not need the hat. You do not need the hat. The demons you're disemboweling do not care about the hat. Walk away from the hat. Is it perfect? No. I have design quibbles I could deliver as a three-hour lecture, and my former students can confirm I absolutely would. The seasonal churn asks a lot of players with actual lives, and I understand the fatigue. But the core of this game, the combat, the atmosphere, the sheer craft, is the work of people who care deeply about the ancient and noble art of clicking on demons until loot comes out. They nailed it. The loot dopamine is real, the world is gorgeous, and my Necromancer has better job security than I ever did. Recommended. Now if you'll excuse me, my skeletons require supervision.

It's an easy game to grasp and get into. I'm not a hardcore player but it seems like there is lots to do. As a casual player I've enjoyed the story and the fact that you can customize your toon.
