OK game I guess but there are just so many countless better boomer/arena shooters out there, Turbo Overkill, Ultrakill, DUSK, DOOM, etc. Played for an hour and why are most of the guns shotguns? Pistols, SMGS, etc, are all shooting multiple pellets at the same time, just the basic weakest versions are shooting a single bullet at a time, all the higher tier guns are all multishot pellet shotguns. Graphics & UI seem a bit cheap and underdeveloped, not saying it is from an asset store, but the quality/vibes seems comparable to asset store quality/vibes.
Superb BAD ASS FPS for true fans. A BIG .... ... towards Baby AAA shooters... Thank you for that game. One man made this game...its insane...SUPPORT 10/10 or should i say 666 out of 666 ? Hell yes \m/
Feels like every aspect of this game was randomly generated. Just a whole bunch of things thrown together. who wants to do inventory management in a boomer shooter???? Most enemies just charge at you. fire your gun and you cant even see whats going on (muzzle flare, giant bullets etc.) so in order to know that you've killed an enemy, the game will pause and briefly turn black and white....... Encounters just werent fun.
"Devilated" has quickly become one of my examples of game design not being a science, but an example of art and witchcraft. In theory a lot of things in the game shouldn't work together and yet they do, but it's both a strength and a weakness. It can frequently be too much and overstimulating (I needed breaks from all the action, gore, blood, and guts), it's absolutely unhinged, part challenging spectacle shooter and part power fantasy, really fun in short bursts, has a bizarre sense of humor and just of place and being. But it can also be a bit too samey, the environments can bleed together, there is inventory management that feels oddly out of place, severe ammo shortages at times, enemies popping into existence, monster closets like you wouldn't believe, and etc. But all of this gives "Devilated" a unique and refreshing feel that I can say I've never experienced elsewhere. "Devilated" is the most bizarre, sometimes frustrating, sometimes fatiguing experience I've had. Yet, after all was said and done, I liked it a ton and would really love to see what else Trunka can come up with. Ending spoilers for my interpretation on some decals in the game and the ending narration below. There were many funny and unhinged easter eggs in the form of graffiti, but
there were a few that were all about cancer (jokes?/references?) and liver problems and other health/existential issues. When the game ends with Deer realizing he has become horribly disfigured yet he still feels peace with it because "...it's all just a sacrifice. A price you're willing to pay for your life." those decals on the walls from early in the game suddenly land differently. So does the general look of the game being this naturalist and gross nightmare. As a cancer survivor maybe i'm reading too much into this and inserting my own lived experience into "Devilated", but this is what it somehow seemed like it to me at the end. So thanks Trunka for, accidentally or otherwise, making this into a sort of aspirational/encouraging experience for me.
All in all, "Devilated" is an easy recommend with a caveat of "it might be too much for some". Come for the hectic shooter action, stay for the unique and deranged atmosphere.
Респект автору за старания, но играть в это тяжело и непонятно зачем. Успехов в будущем.
The shooter is nice, but gets boring quickly.
Very Good
Boom boom. Gros flingues et explosion. Démon, mort vivant, ect..
If I remember correctly, I got this game from some random key bundle, but with the quality of this game, I should have went out and bought a ton of scratch offs. This game is the most competent fps I've ever played, even as a boomershooter enthusiast. The movement is clean, the gun play is amazing, mechanically there's a lot going on, but not enough to feel over complicated or bloating, just enough to make you feel like the ultimate bad ass. If you loved blood and wanted to inject it full of hard drugs, ADHD, some homosexuality, and zoomer mentality, this is the game for you and it easily entered my top as someone who's been playing games since before I can remember. Make sure you've got a fresh pair of underwear when you pick up the double barrel, I won't elaborate but everytime I did I had to change for different reasons.
