Detective – Rainy Night, developed by k148 Game Studio and published by JanduSoft, is a narrative-focused mystery adventure that leans heavily into atmosphere, psychological tension, and character-driven storytelling. Set almost entirely within the confines of a remote roadside motel battered by relentless rain, the game embraces a classic closed-circle mystery structure. You step into the role of Iker Carmona, a police officer responding to a troubling call, only to find yourself trapped alongside a handful of strangers when a violent storm cuts off communication and escape. What begins as a routine check quickly spirals into a layered investigation involving disappearances, paranoia, and unsettling discoveries that challenge both your instincts and your trust in those around you. Rather than building its identity around complex mechanics or open-ended systems, Detective – Rainy Night focuses on dialogue, observation, and gradual revelation. Progression unfolds through conversations with the other motel guests, exploration of the limited but carefully staged environment, and the piecing together of clues over the course of several in-game days. Each character carries fragments of the larger truth, and much of the experience revolves around interrogating their statements, detecting inconsistencies, and interpreting subtle emotional cues. While the game encourages note-taking and attentiveness, it also provides in-game tracking through a notebook system, ensuring that players can follow the thread of the mystery without becoming lost in minutiae. The structure of the narrative is divided into chapters that correspond to escalating events. As the days pass, tension mounts and relationships shift. The once-neutral atmosphere of strangers sharing temporary shelter begins to fray as suspicion creeps in. The pacing emphasizes unease rather than urgency; there are no action-heavy sequences or reflex-based challenges. Instead, the suspense builds through quiet moments—an offhand remark that doesn’t quite add up, a locked door discovered at the wrong time, a character behaving just slightly out of sync with earlier interactions. The rain-soaked setting acts almost as a character itself, reinforcing isolation and claustrophobia. One of the game’s defining qualities is its commitment to mood. The visual presentation, while modest in technical fidelity, effectively captures a gloomy noir tone. Dimly lit corridors, rain-streaked windows, and subdued color palettes create a consistent sense of dread. The art direction favors atmosphere over spectacle, and while character models and environments may not rival high-budget productions, they serve the narrative’s tone well. Sound design further enhances immersion, with the persistent rainfall and subtle ambient cues reinforcing the sense that the outside world has faded away, leaving only the confined mystery within the motel’s walls. In terms of gameplay depth, Detective – Rainy Night adopts a guided approach. Player agency exists primarily through dialogue choices and investigative sequencing rather than branching storylines with dramatically divergent outcomes. The narrative unfolds in a largely linear fashion, with key revelations triggered through progression rather than open-ended deduction. For some players, this structure may feel limiting, especially those who prefer intricate logic puzzles or multiple endings driven by radically different investigative paths. However, the streamlined design also ensures that the story remains focused and coherent, avoiding the fragmentation that can sometimes dilute narrative-heavy games. Character writing stands out as a central strength. Each guest has a defined personality and evolving emotional state, and as suspicion grows, interactions become more layered. The tension between authority and vulnerability is particularly interesting, as the protagonist must balance professional composure with mounting uncertainty. Emotional beats are handled with relative restraint, avoiding excessive melodrama while still delivering impactful moments as secrets are revealed. The psychological undertones gradually deepen, blurring the line between external threat and internal fear. The game’s relatively short runtime means that it does not overextend its premise. It can be completed in a handful of hours, making it a concise, focused experience rather than a sprawling detective epic. While some players may wish for more branching complexity or extended investigative systems, the contained nature of the story helps maintain narrative momentum. It feels less like a sandbox investigation and more like a tightly directed thriller, guiding the player through a carefully paced unraveling of events. Ultimately, Detective – Rainy Night succeeds as a moody, character-driven mystery that prioritizes atmosphere and storytelling over mechanical experimentation. It offers a compact yet engaging journey through suspicion, isolation, and hidden truths. While it may not satisfy those seeking deep investigative gameplay systems or expansive narrative branching, it delivers a cohesive noir-inspired experience that lingers through its tone and tension. For players who appreciate focused mysteries with psychological undertones and immersive ambiance, it stands as a solid and memorable entry in the narrative adventure genre. Rating: 7/10
* Gran Juego *
Lastima que no me deje cambiar a español... pintaba buen juego

"Go to the kitchen and do stuff" - Simulator... hat nix mit Detective Games zu tun. Schade.
