About
Desk Space is a space-themed incremental game designed to live on your second monitor. It is intended to be a curated experience offering roughly 5 hours of active gameplay, where each prestige, especially the second and beyond, adds new complexities to the world. Players can keep growing their fleet and make money infinitely at any stage.
Fleet Automation: Buy and monitor hundreds of ships that slowly take over all of space and make you richer
Faster, better, stronger: Upgrade ships to be more efficient, get better prices, or haul more. Or blow all your money on the stock market.
Always on Top: Desk Space is also made to live on your second monitor or your screen corner as you work, game or do something else. Pin to your desktop (or go fullscreen) and watch your empire grow while you do "more important" things.
Space is big: Go further out in space and discover new wares, rare ores, secrets.. and dangers.
Space synergy: Unlock and experiment with upgrades and ship types to find synergies and new ways of making that sweet money

great game! took me 10 hours flat out while i listened to an audiobook.
100 % the game in 2 days and enjoyed it. Nice little game :)
left ultimately disappointed by this one, i expected something more like Spaceplan, especially since the ui and gameplay looks so similar. somehow Desk Space has less content than that. So much of this game comes off as gimmicky and useless, a list of things i have issues with are as follows: pirates, freighters, the Stock Market, the Expedition system, the prestige system in general (more on that later),
corruption and black holes
,
the metal railgun
, the neurolink, ship manifest and scavenger upgrades. the ui & QOL most of all desperately needs more work as a lot of what's on screen is essentially unused space, you cant close and dismiss a lot of things in the two lists on each side of the screen, the console in the bottom left is tiny and barely readable, and overall performance of the game is fine for the most part, but reaching mid to end game as soon as you look at the center of the map starts to chug some frames, the worst it got for me was down in the 80 to 100fps range but i imagine its a lot worse for those on lower end hardware. the worst part of this game for me is the progression and balancing. from the aforementioned list, the stock market and expeditions are the worst offenders here, the market does not move fast enough nor let you invest enough money for you to see actual progress, for all the info you can see on your ships, there is barely anything to read about on the markets you're investing in, and by the time you get the upgrade that removes the investment cap money is already not a problem anymore, and the same goes for the Expedition system which you wont see until 3 (or 4?) prestige resets into the game. remove a set amount of ships from your fleet and send them away for a set amount of time for a TINY reward. the minimum is 15 minutes and the maximum is 5 HOURS, the first run to the end of the game took me 2.5 hours give or take, which just means losing ships for the same (or more!) amount of value i would have gotten if i kept them around in the same amount of time they're gone. the prestige system is uniquely disappointing in that, in most incrementals, you get a special currency for permanent upgrades in your next "run", reaching endgame lets you farm and repeat. in Desk Space however, farming endgame currency is completely useless, you lose ALL of it and only come back with a set amount that increases by 10 per reset (ie: first reset 10, next 20, 30 etc) you do not keep a percentage of what you made last run, and there is nothing to spend them on. you only get a passive bonus to "global yield" which doesn't really have a noticeable impact on anything until you finally reach endgame status again. once prestiged, you get access to FIVE one-time permanent upgrades to choose from, they do not stack, there is no skill-tree, just five, and its not like any of them were a big help or really noticeable in the progression of the game after a few prestiges into the game, it starts throwing extra stuff at you, namely
corruption and black holes
, which are just minor inconveniences that gatekeep you from progressing further. you get tools to combat them, stuff like
void cleaners which lower the corruption percentage over time when given metal
and
ship sacrifices that remove ships from your fleet to remove corruption immediately
. but the worst offender of them all when it comes down to how useless it can get in this game is
the metal railgun, which asks for 1000 Metal to do 10 damage to a black hole, but a black hole has 20hp....
never in my life have i ever seen anything more useless than this thing, not only does everything that needs metal consistently cost under 1000 for progress, but the fact that a total of 2000 is needed FOR ONE when you could just as easily
sacrifice or feed metal to a cleaner
is insane. by the time you reach 1000 metal anyways is deep into endgame territory, and likely isnt needed for anything at that point. everything else from my list of issues with this game simply come down to ui clutter, mechanics that aren't explained enough, or my own confusion as to why its like that. final verdict: just go play spaceplan, its a much better space incremental with more personality and humor than this ever has.

Addictive game
I like the idea, but the execution and balance makes it hard to recommend for others. I've played through 2 full runs now, and here are my thoughts. - The game throws you into a live game when you first open, with no tutorial or info - Early game is really slow with no improvements until you hit a point where money becomes meaningless, needs better scaling - metal production takes forever for even fully upgraded. - Prestige upgrades are bad. having a 5% gain with new goal to work towards is just a slog.
Truly a fun and fantastic game to have on while working or chilling. Fix the chieve bugs please!
An entertaining little game to just have up and watch numbers go up. Still feels early in development cycle, but Dev is very active and constantly working on improving the game.
Починалось цікаво але фактично вийшла дуже коротка гра. 5 престижів і на цьому все, навіть не дає зростати нескінченно. Деякі прості досягнення не зарахувало - впевнений що баги
