If you crave for a game that is like PvZ, this game is perfect for you. It has a fun story mode and even better rogue-lite mode. The only thing I dislike about this game is endless mode, though I also hate PvZ's endless mode so maybe its just a matter of taste.

I decided to stream the demo. I ended up buying the game partway through streaming the demo. Loved the Roguelike mode. Discovered more in the actual game, and was absolutely tickled.
It's a fun PvZ-like tower defense with an evolution system. It's definitely not better than PvZ2, but is still a lot of fun. I will say, I'm not the biggest fan of the evolution system since that makes it so that there are only 4 "real" units. However, if you use the evolutions you can get some upgraded towers that do pretty unique stuff.
Similar gameplay to Plants vs Zombies, but this adds much more strategy and longevity to the formula. Spend many hours already, and many more to come!
Demonlore, developed and published by Barrel Smash Studios, is a strategy hybrid that blends lane-based defense, roguelite structure, and deckbuilding into a system-driven experience that feels both familiar and experimental. At a glance, it resembles classic lane defense games, but it quickly distinguishes itself through a heavier emphasis on build crafting, resource management, and long-term decision-making. It’s a title that leans more toward strategic planning than reactive play, asking players to think several steps ahead while adapting to unpredictable conditions. The core gameplay revolves around defending multiple lanes against waves of enemies by deploying units and casting spells. While the structure echoes genre staples, the execution introduces more complexity. Players are not simply placing defenders and waiting—they must actively manage limited resources, choose when to deploy abilities, and adjust their strategy as new threats emerge. The pacing can feel intense, as each decision carries weight, and a poorly timed action can quickly destabilize an otherwise solid defense. What gives Demonlore its identity is its roguelite progression system. Each run unfolds along branching paths filled with encounters, rewards, and random events, encouraging players to experiment with different builds rather than relying on a single strategy. Over time, players collect upgrades, modifiers, and abilities that shape how their run develops. This structure adds a layer of unpredictability, ensuring that no two playthroughs feel exactly the same, even if the core mechanics remain consistent. The deckbuilding component further deepens this system. Instead of relying solely on static units, players assemble a collection of spells and abilities that can dramatically alter the flow of combat. Some builds focus on overwhelming offense, others on control or sustainability, and the interplay between these approaches creates opportunities for creative experimentation. Discovering effective combinations can be one of the most rewarding aspects of the game, particularly when a build comes together in a way that feels both powerful and intentional. Another notable feature is the ability to upgrade units into more powerful forms, effectively turning them into central pieces of a strategy. Investing in these upgrades can shift the balance of a battle, adding a sense of progression within each run. Combined with difficulty modifiers and scaling challenges, the game offers a flexible experience that can cater to both casual players and those seeking a more demanding test. Despite these strengths, the game is not without its shortcomings. Balance can be inconsistent, with certain strategies proving significantly more effective than others, which can reduce the incentive to experiment once optimal approaches are discovered. The pacing of runs can also feel uneven, with some sections dragging before more engaging elements come into play. While the roguelite structure introduces variation, it doesn’t always provide enough new mechanics to keep longer sessions feeling fresh. Visually, Demonlore takes a practical approach. The art style is clear and readable, which is essential for tracking multiple lanes and units, but it lacks a distinctive flair. Animations and effects are functional rather than striking, and the overall presentation feels more utilitarian than expressive. The interface is generally easy to navigate, though it can occasionally feel cluttered during more intense moments. Audio design supports the gameplay adequately, but it doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Where the game succeeds most is in its moment-to-moment decision-making. There is a constant balance between planning ahead and reacting to immediate threats, and when these elements align, the experience becomes highly engaging. Successfully navigating a difficult encounter with a well-crafted build can be deeply satisfying, reinforcing the appeal of its strategic systems. However, the game’s reliance on repetition and its limited evolution over time prevent it from reaching a higher level of depth. While the foundation is strong, it doesn’t expand enough to maintain long-term engagement for all players. It feels like a well-executed concept that could benefit from additional layers of variety and refinement. Ultimately, Demonlore is a solid and inventive entry in the strategy genre, offering a blend of mechanics that rewards experimentation and careful planning. It stands out for its combination of systems and its emphasis on adaptability, even if it doesn’t fully realize the potential of its ideas. For players who enjoy roguelite strategy games with a focus on build crafting, it provides a satisfying, if somewhat uneven, experience. Rating: 7/10
It's a great game. I hope there are lots of Levels to make it worth the asking price.
