NICEEE
Big fan of the Demon Slayer manga, I’ve read the entire series and watched the first movie. Never seen more than a few episodes of the anime though. The game however is very good and adapts the key moments featured within it very well. This game’s version of the fight between Akaza and Rengoku in particular is amazing and done better here than it is in the manga or movie. There are also some unique scenes in the game that aren’t featured in either of them. Gameplay wise it’s similar to a lot of anime games with the arena fighter one on one setup but there are large boss fights and set pieces that break away from that and in general it doesn’t feel flimsy and boring like a lot of those types of games do. It also has some really cool QTE’s and fun mini games that break up the action. You can also explore and find collectibles as well with some random encounters thrown in from time to time. The combat is super visceral and satisfying, especially once you learn and master all of the mechanics. There’s a lot of cancelling and aerial combos you can pull off as well. The graphics and art style are amazing. Please, more games that look like this. The animation during the QTE’s is spectacular and adds a lot of excitement to the combat. I don’t know if it’s just the Demon Slayer art style being in motion or the developers (maybe a combination of both) that give it such a unique look but graphically this is one of my favorite looking games ever made. Steam port is great, I also 100%’d the Xbone version as well and spent a lot of time playing them both online. Ran into some connection issues at times on Steam but it’s really nothing I haven’t come to expect from fighting games at this point. Great game, only complaint I have is the censorship. This game pushes the T rating to the absolute max with its violence and it becomes painfully obvious that this started development as a Mature rated title before having a lot of the blood and dismemberment removed. I’m excited to play the second one since it has fully embraced the M rating. I don’t particularly like violent or gruesome content but it can add a lot to the feel of a game like this (play Ninja Gaiden 2 if you haven’t).
very good
The story and the skill effects really match the anime
好玩
