I cannot argue with the negative reviews, It IS a stupid premise that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The Earth has some how run out of ways to make power, some how this is turning the world into a desert, and somehow this has made a global sand storm that you need to beat to find out what happened on the moon... That said from the setup onwards I REALLY bought into it, cared about the characters and enjoyed the "puzzles" by the end it had made me cry twice 7.5/10
Very interesting story! Puzzles are not that hard and a welcome break that makes Deliver us the Moon a nice interactive movie.
For sci-fi lovers. If you liked Gravity and Interstellar, this follows in the footsteps of those movies. Basically, it's an on-rails story or a walking simulator, featuring some interesting puzzles and a few slightly trickier sections, but nothing too difficult. It's set in a dystopian, near-future where Earth is on the brink of collapse, plagued by constant dust storms. You embark on a near-suicidal mission to the Moon to find out and fix why the project (which transmitted massive amounts of energy from the Moon to Earth via Helium-3 microwave beams) suddenly stopped working overnight years ago for no apparent reason. Beautiful visuals and a great soundtrack. Runs perfectly on Steam Deck. Recommended 8/10.
Overall = 7/10
An epic out of this world journey let down by how streamlined and simple it is. The game was a lot more action orientated I was expecting with lots of timed sequences and jumping puzzles, but apart from the overt warning messages, they were well implemented. The simple puzzles felt more like busywork rather than something to solve, but the narrative was good enough to keep me moving forward and the variety of interactive sequences kept you engaged. It’s very atmospheric in its setting, with a slowly revealed story and realistic graphics, but swapping between first and third person for some sequences was a bit clunky as was transitioning between areas. Achievement hunting offers limited replay value but overall, it’s a solid gaming experience which I would recommend.

I knew the moon landing was fake!!!
I liked it and I think most people will too. If you're a more critical type of person you will probably take issue with the glaring inconsistencies and unrealistic infrastructure in this game, as well as the big parts of the story that don't really make sense. It annoyed me at times but overall I still wanted to see it to the end. It's a very easy game. It almost plays itself. There are timed sections, quick time events, and oxygen timer, but you always have plenty of time to spare. That's a really nice thing from an accessibility standpoint. If you have some form of colorblindness you might not immediately notice the difference between the powered and dead battery cells. I used this game to test out my new/upgraded system. The graphics are still impressive even some years later. RTX looks good. There is the typical Unreal Engine jank, but it's OK here. Not counting time spent playing around with the settings, running some system diag, and leaving it idle, it probably took me around 10 hours total to play through the whole thing at my own pace, then go back and complete all the achievements.
Humanity can build this insane power generator on the moon but if it turns off for whatever reason the entire planet can't handle it???

What was the rush in leaving Earth behind? The reactor problem was entirely fabricated. They could have just kept stockpiling fuel and launched later without crippling the reactor. They didn't have to screw everyone over on Earth. They could have left the MPT running. Why?!?!

The MPT 'reserve' (battery) was full. Why did they turn it off?!?!!?

At the end, I thought it was going to be a player choice between launching the last Ark ship or restoring the MPT. Despite it not making sense, it felt like the game was trying to build up a justification for the colonists leaving Earth behind. No such choice was given. The game is on rails in many ways.

The flashlight runs out of battery. Why? It's a completely irrelevant feature.

The space suit contains 3 minutes of oxygen. I don't need to say anything else.
I really wanted to like this game. I nearly posted a thumbs up review, but by the end of writing it I realized I don't actually recommend it. It was too long for the story it was trying to tell, and full of meaningless filler problems to solve that became annoying and frustrating because they added nothing to the story. Most of the time I didn't even know why I was doing the things I was doing, just following whatever thing I could interact with and trying to figure out what they wanted me to do with it. I was quite interested in the world building at first, but you really don't find out anything new or interesting after the first third of the game. It's not a bad game, it just suffered mediocre writing and not focusing on quality over quantity. If you are really interested in it, go ahead and play it, but I do think it's absolutely skippable.
