It's a alright game but, suffers from game breaking bugs that will probably never be fixed.
Deiland Pocket Planet is a mild and relatively short farming game, with many planting seeds, a few sheep and bees to watch for, some basic gadgets to develop and upgrade, some mostly friendly folks to meet and help to (and to receive help in return), and also, to ease up the stupid nightmares, and shoo away the 'monsters' from under the bed. In other words, it's a small indie title, well approved for kids of nearly any age, to play in short sessions and take it easy. The game was in the long development, and suffered 2 recreations, while the developer was training his arm to make all things right. Thus, many people who saw the first two iterations, wrote some disappointed reviews. But since I only saw the last version, and it worked fine to me, without any considerable bugs, or something really unpleasant, I can fairly vouch for this game as a 'good experience'. There is not much going on, though, and the technical side of the game, as well as its complexity, is somewhere on the level of games I played about 20-25 years ago, so... My mark is 6.5/10. Give it to a 3-10 y.o. kid, or play it yourself, as a rather easy to complete and mind-relaxing amusement, for the times when you're not ready to conquer the worlds.
I liked the gameplay, mostly. Unfortunately, it was really buggy. It kept spawning me in the middle of nothingness when I would go into the mine, or onto the first planet, and because you can't manually save before doing these things, it automatically takes you to the end of the action and then you have to wait for ages for the next opportunity to arise to try it again. And after applying the recommended fixes, it wouldn't register my controller most of the time. So, I never actually got to see if those fixes actually worked. After 5 hours of patiently waiting for the next opportunity to try things, over and over again, I had had enough. It was so disappointing. If you can play without bugginess, I only got to see whatever happens storywise prior to the first planet, but it was simple and cute and probably would have been right up my alley. Farming, fishing, exploring, quests, a tiny bit of simple fighting, advancements, crafting...
Deiland: Pocket Planet is a good farming game with some nice graphics and a relaxing ambiant. I recommend it!!! 💗💗💗
Giving a positive review, but the game has flaws. Overall you will experience 10-15 hours of mostly fun and easy grind, with base building, farming, fighting, etc. Recommended for kids. Good music and art. Clearly inspired by "The Little Prince", which is great. Main plot is not finished (hooks like this probably mean game part 2... which will never happen), although each character storyline can be cleared. Feels like the game could be way bigger with more planets to go.
Deiland: Pocket Planet Edition is a gentle and imaginative life-simulation adventure that centers on the simple but endearing idea of living on a world small enough to hold in your hands. Developed and published by Chibig, the game invites players into a relaxed, story-driven experience where farming, crafting, exploration, and light combat all unfold on a tiny spherical planet. Rather than overwhelming players with complex systems or dense mechanics, Deiland focuses on creating a calm, almost meditative rhythm that emphasizes routine, growth, and the quiet satisfaction of shaping a world through small, deliberate actions. The game places you in the role of Arco, a young boy tasked with caring for a mysterious pocket planet. From the beginning, the sense of scale is immediately striking: your entire world can be rotated at will, allowing you to view and interact with every corner of the terrain. This physical intimacy with the environment gives the game a distinctive feel, making each tree chopped, crop planted, or stone mined feel personal and tangible. Progress is steady rather than rushed, encouraging players to settle into a daily routine of tending crops, gathering materials, and preparing for the arrival of visitors who drift in from the stars. Visually, Deiland: Pocket Planet Edition leans into a bright, colorful art style that reinforces its cozy tone. The environments are simple but expressive, with clear shapes and cheerful colors that keep the planet feeling alive despite its small size. Seasonal changes, growing crops, and expanding structures gradually transform the planet, giving a strong sense of visual progression over time. The soundtrack complements this presentation with soft, soothing melodies that fade naturally into the background, helping establish an atmosphere that feels comforting and unhurried rather than demanding constant attention. Gameplay systems are broad but intentionally lightweight. Farming allows you to plant and harvest a variety of crops, while mining, fishing, and woodcutting provide the resources needed for crafting tools, weapons, and structures. Combat exists, but it is clearly not the main focus, functioning more as an occasional obstacle than a central pillar of the experience. Enemies are simple and encounters are brief, reinforcing the idea that Deiland is more about coexistence and stewardship than conflict. As Arco gains experience from daily tasks, players can level up and choose perks that slightly shape their playstyle, adding a mild role-playing layer that rewards consistency and long-term planning. One of the game’s more charming elements is its cast of visiting characters. NPCs arrive sporadically by spaceship, each bringing quests, personality, and fragments of a larger narrative that hints at a broader universe beyond your tiny planet. These interactions give purpose to many of the game’s tasks, as fulfilling requests often unlocks new mechanics or story beats. However, the unpredictable nature of these visits can sometimes disrupt the pacing, as progression may stall while waiting for a specific character to return. This design choice reinforces the relaxed tone but can occasionally feel restrictive for players eager to move forward. As the hours pass, the game’s limitations become more noticeable. While the core loop is pleasant, some systems lack depth, and certain activities can feel repetitive once their novelty wears off. Combat remains simplistic throughout, and some mechanics could benefit from clearer explanations or additional refinement. The story, while charming in its presentation, unfolds in a fragmented manner and may leave players wishing for deeper character development or a more conclusive narrative arc by the end of the journey. Despite these shortcomings, Deiland: Pocket Planet Edition succeeds in delivering a distinctive experience defined by warmth and simplicity. It is not a game designed for optimization, challenge, or endless progression, but rather one meant to be enjoyed slowly, in short sessions or relaxed stretches of play. Its charm lies in the act of caring for something small and watching it grow, not through dramatic twists, but through consistent, gentle effort. In the end, Deiland: Pocket Planet Edition stands as a cozy, heartfelt life-sim that prioritizes atmosphere and accessibility over depth and complexity. It may not satisfy players seeking intricate systems or long-term replayability, but for those drawn to calm routines, charming visuals, and the fantasy of nurturing a tiny world of your own, it offers a uniquely soothing and memorable experience. Rating: 6/10
