The graphics were the best thing about this game. The lush forest and later on the realistic thunderstorm and rain and burning fire in the forest made this game stand out. The silent story of wathcing our baby deer grow up into an adukt deer was good too but sadly what let thus game down was the poor navigation and or instructions. There was no voiceover, no instructions on where to go or what to do. Several times I chose to follow the dirth path but that oftne led me to a dead end or an inviisble wall which blocked me off. There was one frusrating level with the waterfall. I went around eveywhere and was met with invisible walls and the only way I could see was across the river and using the rocks to help me across, but I tried 15-20 times to do do and the game fought me every step of the way and the game would either push my deer back on to the grass where I came from or drown me for trying. I could see there was a path on the other side clearly but the game wouldn't let me across. In the end I skipped the level from the (ESC) which has a "Skip level" feature which was nice. The burning fire in the forest area was a good job and the valley thunderstorm and rain shower. 2 other things let this game down was that some levels it was nighttime so it hard to see where to go or where my deer was as I couldn't see it. One part I was in a cave and couldn't see the deer until I moved forward out of there. The first 1-2 levels was the other frustration, I would be miles away from the other animal (I thibk it was a stag) and somehow it would pop up out of nowhere and charge me and kill me. Another instance I walked tthrough the flowers and the stag or animal with horns still saw me from miles away and charged me multiple times. Finished the game in 47 minutes. Would have been a lot less if I hadn't spent 20 minutes on the river waterfall area lost and wondering where to go as I had been everywhere and no way o.n Nice job by the developers though and a good attempt. Not the worst game i've played and not the best game either, so a 4.5 or 5/10.
I was very conflicted about whether or not to recommend this game, but I cannot bring myself to do so. It is exactly what it claims to be: a walking simulator. If you like walking simulators, I suppose this is the game for you. However, it has some flaws you may want to consider before buying. You are thrown into the game with no explanation besides the game's description. It is a little disorienting, despite being linear. Especially at the start, before you realize what is even going on. At times you are given the illusion of a non-linear environment, but every path leads to a dead end. For most of the journey, you are just feeling around for the correct path and avoiding death, which can be quite annoying when the aggressor is faster than you and you have no way of defending yourself. There is not much else other than walking for you to do. You can eat. There does not seem to be a way to measure hunger and I could see no downsides to just not eating at all, but you can do it if you want to. I suppose that doesn't really hurt anything, but it is a mild distraction at first. Not a huge deal. I did not really know what the story was about until the end, when it suddenly became extremely obvious. It did touch my heart a tiny bit - not going to lie. Unfortunately, this is greatly numbed by the way it was handled throughout this entire short experience. On the bright side, Deer Journey is pretty. The fawn is cute. If you want to be a cute deer walking in a pretty forest, then maybe the above mentioned flaws will not bother you. If you expect an interesting story or anything other than a little walk through nature, maybe save that six dollars.
I recommend it. It's an atmospheric walking simulator as a deer. The game can still be developed. I think it has great potential. The biggest problem right now is that the game is too short. I wish it was a little longer. For those who are curious about the game, click the link below. https://youtu.be/gTVHeU2MgK4
Graphics are nice. Story is ok. The music is very relaxing. It can be a little confusing on where to go occasionally but the game is quick to point you in the right direction. The two ending option was a surprise and nice. I wouldn't pay full price for this as I beat it in less than an hour with both achievements unlocked within that time as well. I look forward to seeing anymore games by this developer.
Die Szene mit der Höhle (Die Visionen, die dem Rehkitz durch den Kopf kamen) haben mich emotional berührt.🤎💚 Insgesamt zu Empfehlen!👌 Gespielt mit: Prozessor: Intel Core i7 11700K GPU: Zotac Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080ti ------------------------------------------------- I've finished the game and I'd like to note that the environment with the best graphics setting in 4K 60FPS resolution looks MEGA TOP ✔ 🔥🤎💚! The storyline could have been a bit more extensive, but additional expansions may be added. The game definitely has potential! The scene with the cave (The visions that came through the fawn's head) touched me emotionally.🤎💚 Overall to recommend!👌 Played with: Processor: Intel Core i7 11700K GPU: Zotac Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080ti
Jogo curtinho com 2 finais, mas amei muito a arte e as músicas, simplesmente sublime
Good, Chill, but too short.
A short, but beautiful game.
Could do with some direction, I spent most of my in-game time trying to figure out where to go
