Solid hex and counter wargame with a really fascinating political system on top of it.
Really good game
A multi-faceted organization of historically accurate order of battle divisions, movement and combat protocol, commanders, logistics, weather, equipment, and time line reproduce this largest invasion in history -June 1941 Soviet Russia by Nazi Germany; All liked. An improvement would be better resuppy of panzers, if historically correct. Location of a particular division on the map by entering it's number would be helpful. Overall a well designed project, and enjoyable to play!
Brilliant
Suoer game!
I have only played the German side. This is perhaps my favorite hex- based wargame on the market. It has strong RPG mechanics for a wargame which leads to good replayability. Highly recommend that you read the manual or watch a video explaining mechanics in order to understand unless you are familiar with other VR Designs wargames.
64 hrs in and still unable to get anywhere near Moscow due to supply issues and tank break downs - 10/10
perfect mix - easy to get in but still challenging enough to have fun. i just love the gameplay with the different personalities and consequences.
I have played a great many WW2 east front wargames, both board-type and computer-based. Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa is one of the best I have played. It plays like a board game set in a digital realm. I mean that as a high compliment. The role-playing aspect and the card playing mechanic for front/army group operations is very clever. The only downside to me is the operations learning curve. It has taken me several game plays to figure out the proper administrative functions, and I am still learning. Still, there is never a dull moment. A very innovative computer simulation.
It's challenging and fun, but a large time investment
